This will crush during Red Hat show days and from convention center goers looking for somewhere to go to. More importantly it will keep improving the connection from downtown down Cabarrus towards Platform / Boylan Heights.

I am excited for this one. We seriously can use some more choices of places to eat on this side of town. I think he should do well.
And yes ties to White Street Pizza in Key West. We should put on our list to try out when we go down in December. (at least as a lunch option LOL)

As a pizza connoisseur, their pizzas look good. But $20 for a personal sized cheese pizza isn’t going to be a recipe for success. Hope they’re not bringing their pricing model from Key West, as we ain’t got tourist $'s here in Raleigh.
None the less, excited for this space to be activated and sounds like a pretty cool concept!

I couldn’t read the paywall article but there’s some info here:
I don’t really like neopolitan style since it’s usually just globs of cheese falling off the tomato sauce, but I’ll survive. I’m actually more excited for the speakeasy and it having a legit hidden entrance… Too many places call themselves speakeasies but they’d be the first places raided during Prohibition!

Counterpoint: BareBaked Pizza in the food hall (also delicious) sells 12-inch pizzas starting at $16 for a basic margherita and go up to $20. I think they’re doing reasonably well. If the atmosphere at this place is good, as it seems it will be, I think they will get plenty of folks. Not that $20 for a 12-inch pizza isn’t ridiculous.. but it’s just the world we live in now.

I think we just need to wait to see what the pizza and the value for the money will be. I know living downtown that pizza ain’t cheap. And he will have pasta options as well. And he will be walking distance to my front door. Soooo…I am rooting for this place. All these apartments and a handful of restaurants !!! Bring on the food. And a speakeasy. I am waiting with anticipation. Hopefully I won’t be disappointed. AND this isn’t going to be a little operation. He is renting 3500 sf of the 25,000 sf building (according to the article) and will hire between 25 and 40 total employees. The restaurant will have 60 to 80 seats inside and 25 to 40 seats outside.

I certainly hope it’s a home run for the investment. Poole’side didn’t pencil out but there will certainly be more residents in the walkshed once this gets open.

You could also take this a step further and do this for EVERYTHING. I am a car connoisseur, or a steak connoisseur or a sun connoisseur. Or a
