They want it to be permanent but they have to come to terms with the lease past this year. I suppose that they are saying pop-up so that they can have some leverage with the landlord? I am not sure how well that is going to work if that’s their strategy.
Same, and I travel quite a bit. Very Yogi Berra energy - “no one goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.”
Here’s the thing… neither am I, at all. But I’m telling you…
only language i’ve seen from them regarding this
The downtown Raleigh La Farm Bakery pop-up will be open seven days a week through 2024, with the long-term goal to extend the lease long-term in downtown Raleigh.
Double decker porch/patios out back are a niiiiiiiiice touch
EDIT: Nevermind, bottom is garage entrance.
Not really ‘double’, the bottom level is the garage entrance.
Good catch, thanks for correcting!
It’s our family’s standard practice to get the Parisien sandwich and white chocolate baguette before any flight.
I don’t have access to the article. But I like the headline of this article. “New report called Glenwood South a billion dollar economic engine”.
That headline should be used when selling any retail spaces along Glenwood South.
He won’t allow copy/pasted from paywall protected content. Sucks but I get the rule!
Thanks! I will remove.
Anthony’s La Piazza is supposedly now open under The Wilard. But with all their window coverings they look super closed and not inviting. Really hope they take those down lol
Seems like the Cityplat shipping containers project might be resurfacing?
Noticed some social media posts on a new account from this month on both Facebook and Instagram. Maybe they’re actually moving forward with this (2 years later).
This would be so awesome. It’s CityPlat though, I still can’t trust them. But they just posted coming fall of 2024, which means they’d need to start building like yesterday to accomplish that. So if they’re legit, work on this has to be starting soon.
Edit: This might actually be happening. The owners of The Merchant, Architect, & Virgil’s seem to be in on this project.
It’s our very own Can Opener, just a little longer view down to the Peace St bridge…
Hopefully Local Icon is more hands on and CityPlat less so…
A little caveat to this being that their previous post also stated “starting in Fall.”
Little did we all know that they actually meant Fall 2024 instead of 2022. It feels promising that they’re resurfacing this instead of just ignoring it like the spot next to the Target on Hillsborough.
This actually looks more robust than what was previously shared. I am curious about this 4 story “building” that they are showing. What in the world is this actually? Is it some sort of structure made out of containers and decking? If they do this correctly, it could be a really cool amenity to the neighborhood. It’s got a sanitized Austin vibe to me.
I don’t want to get too excited though, because the Glenwood-Brooklyn neighbors could still try to kill it.
I confirmed with THE that this project is in fact back in full swing!
