What is being built in the foreground of this third picture? I thought they were trying to rezone this site for a building up to 30 stories?

That undeveloped land to the far right will be large tower probably in the 20+ range. If zoning is approved. That approval or denial should happen tomorrow? Is that with the new city council or old one?

Tomorrow is still the current (“old” haha) CC. New councilmembers are sworn in in December, I believe - someone on here mentioned that last iteration of the CC was sworn in on a December date after the election. So this is it!!! They better just approve EVERYTHING tomorrow 
Looking at the iternerary I have a hunch that is exactly what they are going to do. Lots of rezoning cases up for discussion. This is likely Kane’s final chance for this rezoning to go through, no way it passes the new split council if this is pushed out again.

Not sure if this proposed hotel is coming back to life, but they re-cleared the parcel for this proposed hotel in Wade Park last week. The linked ASR is from 2019, but very curious to see if these plans are being dusted off.

I’ve been curious about that for so long since that’s the entrance to my general neighborhood. A hotel (rooftop?) would clean up there with all the events nearby.

Trust me!!! There go quick on it, especially since elections are over. Some people don’t forget or some remember there still remain council meetings aren’t happening there until the new council.
Me too, I go right past it everyday coming into the office. It would fill a gap. There is also a gap across the street beside the apartments. Lots of folks let their dogs run, but it looks like something will be built there at some point in the future.

Yeah they wanted to change the zoning agreement to allow for no retail (instead of x% retail, y% apartments) when they built the last of the apartments there, but a bunch of us homeowners told them no, we wanted the retail originally planned. So they built the percent they could of apartments and left that block of land there undeveloped for spite LOL. No idea if they’ll ever build there, but it would likely need to be retail only. The hotel is the last original parcel still undeveloped. I think sometimes they just cut stuff back, but I always get exited.
