Bozeman, MT?? Legitimately COOL little town. Bonus points that it’s within driving distance of Yellowstone National Park. I only “visited” for a few hours as an artist friend took me around some cool little gallery spots and the art school where she worked but I will say I felt pretty at-home out there. If I was a rich man…

Bozeman would be beautiful, though it may be too arid for me. I also really like Little Rock, though the humidity in that river bottom is something else. It’s Baton Rouge that is making me ill, esp as an Ole Miss Man. (Though Oxford Miss did come up at #20 for me). If I was conspiratorial, I would think that the Gucci’s were running this from their car and screwing with us all.

also..in somewhat a parallel to Redhat redo…an 8500 seat outdoor concert venue was buit across from the Nugget Resort along with significant density over the last 8 years replacing some old casinos and nearby hotels. all empty into a nice plaza like area with modern transit station mere feet away.

Stopped into downtown Kannapolis this weekend on our way back from Charlotte. They’ve done a great job revitalizing this area. Tons of small shops, lots of people walking around and enjoying the seating and multi-use sidewalks, plenty of places to sit and rest and for children to climb and play. Totally and completely activated. Plus, the AAA ballpark is just across the way, close enough for us to hear the game calls and the organ. Very cool. Had me dreaming of something similar on Fayettville St.
