554 East Hargett St (Abode at Hargett)

I hope they realize watering that asphalt will not make it grow.

I hope they plant some trees, it’s looking barren in there!

If you had told me that this development was in Apex, I’d believe you.

There’s trees, they’ll just take a couple decades to mature.

Thanks for the photo (Drone??)

Also, I notice it says “for lease”. What’s that all about. This development is a big change for that area.

No, I took it off the backside of this deck:

Looks like suburban hell… less than a 5min walk from downtown :upside_down_face:

Abode developments appear to be all rentals. So much for giving people the opportunity for home ownership.

People keep complaining about this project, but the space between the houses is so tiny that they’re as dense as townhouses. I give this one a thumbs-up.

So when do we retire the Treasuring “Chris” in the name of this thread?

Lol I guess it can go. It had a good run.
:innocent:

Close, I guess. 12/acre (26 units on 2.2 acres, according to iMaps) vs. the townhouses a block west on Hargett are about 16/acre.

Oh, you can definitely get more than 12 townhouses on an acre, but a lot (I’m guessing most) townhouses in Raleigh are on land that’s zoned only up to R-10, and I’ve seen a lot of townhouse developments where there’s so much open space that it’s functionally a lot less than 10 units per acre. 12 units per acre is near the lower end of the range, but still squarely in the range of typical townhouse density.
