Tons of apartments obviously opening now and soon, so this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that there’s actual retail excitement. We can stop acting like nothing happens here and that everything is cancelled. DTR’s population is growing daily at this point, so yeah, retail is filling in (lol at the seaboard station discussion, folks saying it’s sterile on opening day and surprised its livelier a year later). Y’all thought smoky hollow wasn’t going to fill up? Sure it took a few years but was never in doubt, and it’s a cool tenet mix. Some of the apts opening without retail is a good thing for driving retail infill too. Retail chains that DTR is ready for right now/missing:
Patagonia (warehouse district)
Lululemon (seaboard or GS)
Mast General Store (Fayetteville or Moore square)
Neuse Sport Shop
Nike (seaboard or GS)
Any movie theater
Any traditional bowling alley
