Full merch restock at the event. Whatever is left goes online afterwards.
I bristle at this comparison – for one thing, it was a single exhibition game of a popular social media-savvy team that plays a different style of baseball. It would be like saying the Harlem Globetrotters sold out MSG over the Knicks. We all know the Globetrotters mainly play for entertainment, and that they are doing one-off games whereas the Knicks play 100+ games a season.
That’s not to say that MLB has a real problem with making the game enjoyable, but they have made some incredible strides with the rule changes over the last couple of seasons that have made the game shorter and more thrilling.
This also neglects to understand the garbage fire of the Rays as an organization. They have been incredibly competitive over the last few years, but their management and ownership sucks.
It’s not just another random weeknight game for the Ray’s though, it’s opening day…
No, the lesson is very clearly that the Rays should have to dance between pitches
Well here’s good and real news from the Sports Business Journal:
“Markets such as Nashville, Portland, and Raleigh have been more aggressive than others [in vying for an MLB team]”

Just a reminder that if you’re looking for something to do before the Canes game Saturday, we have an event for MLB Raleigh at Trophy Maywood.
Looking forward to it! Lines up nice with the start of NCSU/Louisville baseball at 3 pm as well.
Loup are we going to make serious play for the Rays??>
@Loup20 hard at work setting up for today. Hope to see y’all out there. #RaleighOnDeck
Great event today. We got there about 12:15. I was truly surprised and impressed at the turnout. There was a lot of baseball enthusiasm all around.
The merch drop sold out of some of the high-demand items pretty quickly, from the conversation I had with the guy behind the table. Apparently they’re talking with New Era about getting larger commercial runs of the fitted caps.
The mayor of Apex Jacques Gilbert was there. He an open supporter I think he’d allow the stadium to be place in Apex.
Today’s TBJ has an article concerning building a soccer stadium in the downtown area or DTSouth .
Positive or negative coverage?
Positive ! I’m not where I can do a detail reply. The article is so non members can read this article.
Didn’t realize that Malik’s attempt to sell the team last fall failed when NWSL wouldn’t allow private capital to own a franchise. That is disappointing.
It’s clear that maybe Malik is starting a bit of a new PR tour in light of that to drum up interest…if I was him, you play a bidding war between Dundon, Town of Cary, downtown Raleigh and try to get the most money possible. It’s clear the Courage need an upgrade and are not keeping up with rest of the league/Malik needs some help. But it’s telling that John Kane owns a small slice of the team NC Courage - Official website, so you can’t count him out and I am sure he will play a role. Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this comments…seeing this is an MLB chain. Best of luck to Malik, he needs some help.
Malik Malik Malik Malik I wish him the best.
Yeah Malik really does.
Thanks for coming by!
