Business Relocation/Economic Expansion

That building is mostly all Peace apartments and Publix, so it may just be mislabeled? There is a small store front / parcel on the bottom right corner of the lot though, guess that could turn into something.

I know. Having a Gucci store in Raleigh seal the deal for an MLB franchise.

It’s definitely one of that factors, plus more Fortune 500 companies we need to work hard on that. Because they buy suites which is team revenue. Billionaires seek that to their advantage and Gucci store would work because people with Fortune 500, make $100,000- $500,000. There something you just don’t understand about billionaires they follow the money there no money here. Tepper got here because the Panthers were up for sale otherwise no he wouldn’t be here, same thing for Mr. Dundon. The money isn’t here, and I think that’s why the City Chamber of Commerce is weak, they could be working with the city on private properties that have been zoned up to 40 a lot of them have a pitch them to companies looking to relocate for lease. The city could pass an ordinance on tenants that
J all office buildings be pitched for lease to attract Fortune 500 companies. This is a legitimate solution.

This is where Comedy worx used to be before it was torn down for the Peace development.

Yep. It used to occupy a small brick building on the corner of Peace and West.

Thanks @John, didn’t realize how much I needed this piece of nostalgia until I saw it. Crazy how it feels like it was so long ago. Hit me right in the feels.

Grenadier, a new SUV company started by a British billionaire who didn’t like some Land Rover redesign, is putting its HQ in Raleigh. They may make the vehicles in NC or a nearby state as well.

Maybe the British billionaire will want soccer in his new city?

Like a gift from heaven for people who want an MLS team. Reverse Ted Lasso.

I believe we can start to refer to this as a RTL now. Let’s start #RTL trending on Twitter!

FWIW Ineos was founded by Jim Ratcliffe. Who already owns a professional team in both Switzerland and France as well as part of an F1 team so who knows? Maybe an MLS team could be his next passion project… :person_shrugging:

Is this new news? I thought we heard this before and it was going to be maybe a couple people. Unless this is bringing other electric car companies (or any other car companies) along with it, it doesn’t seem that big of a deal. A billionaire that doesn’t like Land Rovers…ok.

Yep there was news about this a little while ago. Land Rover stopped making one of their iconic models and he’s basically recreating it.

Apparently the Triangle was a finalist for a 700-job Cisco innovation center last year. It ended up going to Atlanta.

Dang. That would’ve been a nice land. From the article, ATL thinks this puts them in the running for Cisco HQ, if they move. This “Tech Sq” area was new to me - but certainly I’ve seen all the building in that area (I pass it on the way to IKEA, lol) now I know what is driving the building boom.
