Hummmmmmmm… so this this dead or what? Crickets. Anyone have a downlow?
Hopefully the plan gets approved this time.
Don’t worry guys it will get approved let’s just be positive
Finger crossed friends let believe in Jesus
Lol hopefully Jesus has higher priorities than building approvals
Jesus doesn’t want Raleigh to have 300-400 ft buildings.
Let’s just pray in God m name amen
I would like to see the city approved a tower with hieght of 485 feet tall
To be fair, this building is design-wise a bit of a waste imo. They could’ve done something much cooler with it. I’m willing to overlook that because it’s in the most critical location of anything getting built. It’ll be the keystone single-handedly holding the two halves of the skyline together for many years until other things are built in that gap.
I am on the record as liking it. Unlike a lot of newer buildings with 15 different kinds of cladding and five different shapes of wall and crown it just does a simple shape elegantly.
Of course, I think the Seagram Building is one of the most perfect buildings in the world and and most of Frank Gehry’s stuff is godawful, so to each their own.
@Vatnos is on point here. I forget about this building in my obsession with the N&O bock.
I am not thrilled, but ok with this design. I do wish the could spice up the top some, since it will be so prominent. Folks are going to point and know its city hall, might as well make a statement great than just the color and height.
Regardless, it is an important piece filling in the gap in this part of the skyline.

Guy look at this new design I just found it on internet I searched civic campus and this what it pop up
My bad guys I gott so confused new police department center
maybe I’m wrong also, but I think the new building is going on site of Police department / former city hall (in 60/70’s) building. In mid 1970’s I worked in that building in IT depart for about 6 months until resized that government job was not for me.
Well the good you got out of their
This was the original design, called the ‘Clarence Lightner Public Safety Center’. It was on the agenda back in 2010 and the NIMBYs successfully killed it.
Dam but I thinking is 21 or 20 stories I guess that would make it
What we get there has to be in balance with what tax payers are willing to fund. Public projects are publically funded.
This is EXACTLY what I meant. A weird jumble of shapes. Dodged a bullet and got a sleek modern building instead.
