we covered it in great detail on spectrum news
Spring Hill House was the home of Theophilus Hunter, built between 1816 and 1820. He was a prominent leader in the area. Isaac Hunter, a founder of Raleigh, was a relative.
I have to say, the landscaping that came with the stone house renovations make the Boylan Ave entrance to the park feel much more special. Pics aren’t great, but you should definitely check it out if you can.
Can confirm, the improvements here help a lot.
A lot of landscaping left, but things are shaping up in the park.
I like this giant wooden swing set with different options.
And just a few bench options!
Wow.. that looks great! They really have done a lot in this area.
Does anyone know what that brick building is supposed to become?
The livestream shows that there has been a lot of progress with the landscaping and it’s all really impressive work :
Wow! It’s going to the largest adventure playground in the Southeast. Take that Cary!
They’ve also added a lot of info and pictures here:
Downtown Cary has a park, not an adventure playground. Just saying.
We all know that you can’t have an adventure in Cary.
This is a fantastic addition to Raleigh and serves as a great third space for families close to the urban center. It’s wild that they plan to provide shuttles due to the high parking demand - hopefully in due time, the surrounding area can allow greater density and encourage housing development for all.
We have to get more families comfortable with choosing to live in high density housing because they have access to amenities like this park! Make choosing density a plus and not a minus.
I am just hoping it’s not a play area just for kids. If so, I may need to borrow a kid just to go play.
There you go, being all grumpy and stuff. Take the win. Raleigh 2 Cary 1.
Yeah, the park needs to be a sip and stroll.
Lol I’m happy for this but I don’t need to borrow a kid to go to downtown Cary’s Park
It does say my well behaved pet is welcome so I think I am good. And to rival CARY (read it and WEEP) the following is being touted…Raleigh’s newest destination is sure to delight visitors of all ages with 18.5 acres of amazing playgrounds, gathering spaces, beautiful gardens, spectacular art, and sweeping skyline views.
The largest adventure playground in the Southeast
1,000 trees and more than 110,000 plants
A seat for everyone on the 91-foot long mega-swing
