Yes, please diversify her portfolio with some non-digital tenable assets. It’s never to early to buy a plot of land even for a 5 year old, good chance it will pay off in the future. I like where her heads at and with her crack research team she should kill it!
The Triangle’s newest crane going up in… Garner?!
Lots of things happening at the VA clinic site at Rand Rd and NC-50. This project will include what I believe will be the first parking garage in all of Garner.
Also happening is the new Duke Health medical office building at NC-50 and Timber Dr. Not as visible yet but here’s a rendering from the fence:
“Swift Creek will have 613 multifamily units and 22,500 square feet of retail space”.
Apartments in garner off of 401 set to break ground by the end of the year. A few new density developments popping up down this stretch.
There’s no reason why 75,000 shouldn’t be calling Garner home in the next 10 years. There’s just too much untapped potential there. This is a good start.
Ooh, I wonder if this means they’ll finally get Vandora Springs Rd. extended to 401, some 15+ years after they carved out a route for it.
Just a shame there isn’t a central business district / more walkable area in the city.
There are another 600 Apts going at the intersection of Old Stage and 401. My company is developing 268 Apts inside Greenfield parkway next year.
Which quadrant? NW, NE or SE?
DTR and Garner will one day merge as if it had always been. These are the new apartments on HWy 70 just past Target.
That’s a lot of used car dealerships and mattress stores between downtown Raleigh and those apartments . Garner kind of already built out, will need lots of redevelopment to erase the cheese.
Another thing that I don’t think many realize is that Garner doesn’t really start (heading south out of Raleigh on S. Saunders) until you reach Lowe’s. A lot of that “cheese” south of 40 is still Raleigh. Regardless of municipality, there is a ton of opportunity there.
Great example of thinking that Raleigh is Garner. The area north of Tryon is Raleigh.
This is on A BRT corridor right?
I think it’s just South about .5 mile from the end of the Southern BRT route.
If it’s Farm Rd (across from Old Stage Rd) then it’s about a mile. Would be an exceptionally unpleasant sidewalk-less walk past used car lots, gas stations, garages, fast food, etc. If Rupert Rd could be connected through then that would at least open up a better walking/biking corridor, although it would be straight through a primarily industrial area.
It’s too bad the old K-Mart plaza wasn’t redeveloped into another mixed use development, to hopefully some day better connect with a reimagined Garner Station. Looks like the K-Mart building was updated and an absolutely massive AutoZone took the place of the gas station instead.
The Kmart is being converted, (has been) converted into a Life Sciences Campus, I believe!
