Nice find. I was doing some digging on them and found the eatRaleigh Blog. Dude seems like someone from this board, talking about the dearth of good Pho and Triangle Town Center going down in flames.

There’s Pho Xpress in Brier Creek. Pho is OK, but I really like their Banh Mi.

In case it’s not super clear where they will be located, it’s 725 Tucker St.

I love that these retail spaces have consistently stayed filled

Saw this article just now. Obviously it’s Durham, but I’m curious to see how this plays out for Raleigh. I feel like there’s several distilleries here but I honestly never have visited them. Visit a brewery and you get a tour, some pints, maybe some stuff to take home. Visit a distillery and you get a couple tiny warm glasses of gin or moonshine and maybe a bottle to take home. This new law is a game changer and it sounds like many distilleries are planning to basically become cocktail bars.

Yeah Bedlam Vodka is in Durham too but maybe some of the Raleigh breweries will now branch out and experiment with distilling. Maybe Trophy or Bhavana?

Woa. I double-clicked on the building itself, and I went in! Google maps links to a 360 internal map (looks like a demo unit that they let you tour).

Brewery Bhavana vodka and gin would be amazing I bet!

We do have Raleigh Rum. Who else?

I always wanted to invent a liquor Raleigh could be credited for creating and I know what it is–maybe. Just waiting for that free million dollars to get started.

In Europe there’s usually some weird local liqueur that’s made up of local herbs/flower/something else. Maybe some kind of pine pollen, kudzu and acorn drink?

Yeah basically. Use scuppernong grapes to make a local fruit liquor as it makes a terrible wine–imo.

NC has a culture of clay/pottery-making so pair the scuppernong fruit liquor with a fancy clay-bottle and come all Euro-snooty on the tourists.

So we’ve heard that Ashley Christensen will be opening a fast-casual chicken sandwich restaurant chain (Project: Xtra Crispy) in the Triangle. I wonder where the first branch will open up? In DTR? And when!

I quite like the ceramic bottle that Sutler’s Gin comes in.

First two locations will be in Durham and Cary. Third will be in Raleigh, but they didn’t have a location as of a few days ago.

Those behind Dram and Draught have actually developed the next “fireball” but without the propylene glycol and other terrible ingredients, and it’s Cola flavored. It’s technically flavored vodka, but basically can be mixed with soda water to create a cola cocktail.

They should do a Cheerwine version and market it as their version of the cherry bounce.

Well let’s get started. I’ll start experimenting with grape hooch when I come back from Europe. Maybe we can make it a tradition to toast at meetings.

My beef (no pun intended I think) is that kindness is great and all but it bugs me to hear a bunch of good stuff about equality when only well off people can afford to eat at your places. Seems like sort of a blind spot. She could easily do like Niall does and have say $5 burger night on Monday and call it service industry night (many of them are worn out from working hard on the weekend). One way or another she needs to make some of her food more accessible.
