Fenton has quality density. Good demographics. Will be there longer than both of us.
I hope that they don’t rip out that tree out front for their new deck. I hope that they install the deck around it, but I’m not holding my breath.
From the perspective of someone who walks in the Summer, trees that shade sidewalks are critical infrastructure.
Oh nice, I never really clocked anything was there, and it’s on one of my running routes. Combined with the Bend and (fingers crossed) the Goodnights replacement and that area will feel far mlre lively a couple years from now.
You’re probably right.
But I don’t think it will get any better over time, the way true urban areas can/do.
We’ll see though - maybe the developer factored future renovations and 2nd / 3rd lifecycles for the retail spaces.
If so I’d be shocked
And those of us on the east side just get to see the unfinished part. I have wondered about that for years.
I assumed it was a to everyone in east Raleigh. Prove me wrong, someone!
:LOL
It may be a ventilation requirement for the mechanical equipment on the roof.
I’ve never been there, but it appears the shine is coming off of Fenton already if this reddit thread is worth anything: Reddit - Dive into anything
What? Randos on Reddit not liking something popular? Oh no! LOL
Hah, seriously.
I have my doubts Fenton will age gracefully, but for now it’s nice once you actually get there and park - Superica is delicious and it’s got a solid roster of shops.
Except my wife and I made a vow to never return to that William and Sonoma.
$95 for a pepper grinder, made in the good ole PRC?
Nope, thanks.
Hah! They’ve got some quality stuff and some hilariously overpriced stuff. Tasty food samples, too.
Yeah went for some Ashley Christensen food and drink thing there. Had like 4 free mint juleps. And got a Le Creuset enameled skillet there, and the guy went through their whole supply in back just to find the 1 left of the color I wanted. No problems with that place. Williams Sonomas are just expensive.
Pink Boot and Rainbow Luncheonette are closing to make way for two new concepts from different proprietors.
Spoken like a true Gucci lol
Damn, I really liked Rainbow Luncheonette. However, I’ll be the first to admit that the space wasn’t particularly great at bringing more than one person to. Looking forward to Prospects.
Seriously?! LOL wow they just opened. I have not the greatest feelings for the owner and his outlook on everything, so I’m not shedding any tears, but weird to close so quickly.
In Rainbow Luncheonette’s place, Ricci and his partners will be opening Prospects, a diner-esque eatery serving food till 3:30am (!)
YOOOOOOOOOO
They will get all the business that the Ihop on HIllsborough used to get at that hour.
Sucks to lose Rainbow because that place was genuinely awesome (and delicious) but this looks promising. We really need some more late-night options downtown.
