Slow down pardner. Now I’m gonna have to explain that one to Jake too. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Dippin Dots are a theme park / zoo favorite.

Happy to report that Paul & Jack (which replaced Layered on S. West St) is open city hours and I can now happily get coffee past 1pm :innocent::fist:

Also looks like insane quality…

The other neighboring establishments are doing well on this beautiful day, too (I’m also happy Paul & Jack kept most of Layered’s decor):

former raleigh native…i like char grills recipes. outdoor seating always left something to be desired. doesn’t seem like a code-mandated tree would cost too much.

Left Hook coffee opening a second location at 912 E Hargett St. Just east of downtown by the old DMV location.

Coffee is the safest best in Raleigh it seems.

To add some new details from their story, they plan to soft open this month for barista training courses and other events. Fundraising will begin in Summer and full open is planned for late Fall.

Very excited for this location!

But the reason why may be interesting for yous peeps.

“The Merchant” off Salisbury will be taking/expanding into the Architect space. Green Light will also remain.

So a loss + gain for Hargett St, and a loss for Salisbury. Kinda a lateral move for downtown in general, then lol

I keep meaning to check out The Merchant - their space looks beautiful.

And Virgil’s will be shutting down. Landlord issues fueling the move of Merchamt and closing of Virgil’s.

Sounds like an idiot landlord. Could have a good thing going there with multiple thriving businesses in one building, instead they (I assume) got greedy and now have zip, nada, nothing.
