General Retail/Restaurant News

Same here, I love being able to bike over there now. I’m hoping this building gets redeveloped into housing (condos/apartments with retail) within the next few years.

Would love for it to be 12 floors so that it’s not a 5 over 1.

Would have been a better spot for common market IMO

Ehh that’s seems way too dense, 5-6 stories would be just fine, if it looks nice and isn’t a small Texas donut.

Clyde Cooper’s BBQ will move into the current Red, Hot & Blue space in Quail Corners shopping center in north Raleigh. They should be open in the next week, initially with a limited menu and take-out. They are also exploring a drive-thru option.

Hibachi 88 will move into their former space on S. Wilmington St, which will be their 4th location in Raleigh and 7th in the Triangle.

Patrick Shanahan of Peregrine and the adjacent Capulet Cocktail Club will open Rosebud in the old Fox Liquor Bar space on Feb. 14. The name is a nod to the movie “Citizen Kane,” and their bar program will be led by Zack Thomas, beverage director at Peregrine.

Clyde Cooper’s is moving into the recently opened Red Hot and Blue space? That’s pretty wild.

No, they’re just opening in that plaza as far as I know.

Yes, in the Red Hot and Blue space.

Insane how short lived Red Hot and Blue was. Clyde Coopers is an upgrade though in my opinion.

The prior RHB on Falls of Neuse up at Sandy Forks was a conventional, service-at-the-table restaurant. The repurposed gas station didn’t really accommodate that, and I believe the customer base was confused. It’ll be interesting to see what modifications Clyde Coopers makes.

Wonder why red hot and blue closed up so soon? Seems like they just opened. It will be interesting how Clyde Cooper’s does in the spot.

IMO That old shell station at quail corners they converted into the red hot and blue is a bad restaurant location. Right on the corner at the intersection of 2 stroads. With outdoor seating to soak up that engine noise and exhaust fume ambiance.

Great spot for a gas station, not so much for a restaurant.

Looked it up, looks like they opened up at end of July last year. Very fast closing

Agreed. Doesn’t have a welcoming vibe in general. Good for visibility I guess. Seems like they put a lot of money into it too.

Maybe they are shifting their business model toward more take-out? This could be why they are exploring a drive thru.

I heard Raleigh Architecture is moving in there (I think) temporarily. Their old office is closed up.

unless its a different red hot and blue, i thought it had been at falls village sc since the late 80s…i recall it there then. as a former bbq lodge take-out (on capital) patron…coopers may get some traction with take out . but the interesection does seem a bit cumbersome there.

Red Hot and Blue was closed at Falls Village since at least 2020, the new gas station spot at Millbrook had opened this past summer
