General Retail/Restaurant News

Reading between the lines with a “reset”, are you saying that they’re kind of clearing out the local vibe in order to catch some big fish with all of the newly-available space? Like, chain stores/restaurants, etc.?

I really hope you are wrong.

Ooof.

“Reset” for what? Doesn’t seem to make much sense.

What is the point of raising rent if no one can afford it? Wouldn’t a landlord rather have a tenant that pays something? I don’t know. Lots of empty space in North Hills and yet they keep building stuff - I wonder about the development of the JCPenney space when other businesses are failing. Chains aren’t even safe - I wonder if b.good is done since it hasn’t opened even for takeout, grabba green is gone and Viva Chicken as well.

Me too.

Me. Too. It’s shaping up to be a mess unless something changes quick.

Crema is a hidden gem. Great sandwiches, and their soups are the best. I talked to Mikhail and he’s waiting a few weeks to bring soups back, but they are worth the trip.

Crema? Where is that? There is a coffee house in Nashville Crema (great views of the city…)

Bottom right hand corner of One City Plaza behind Happy/Hale. Good, cheap coffee, too!

That seems to stretch to the corner @ Cap 16? Woud be cool if that turned the corner up to Lucette Grace…Need more of this and I do wonder if there are alternative forms of the bollards / barriers ahead when diners return and the cost basis allows ?

Yeah good point. It’s still being worked on so we’ll see how it looks in a few weeks.

DGX looks to re-open soon. New shelves going in now.

Just saw Kimbrell’s downtown is closing. I’m sure people have a lot of thoughts. Mine is that I’ve never been inside or wanted to go in, and I hope something good is done with that space.

I was very sad to see this. It’s one of the older businesses in the area. We bought furniture for our furnished rental properties there and got good prices and service. I think being boarded up for a couple months dealt the final blow. I’m afraid we are just seeing the beginning of retail closing downtown.
