With the New Bern BRT planning on linking to this station, it feels like any push to move the station elsewhere faces an even steeper uphill climb. Does anyone disagree?
While I don’t think there should be any debate around whether people who use the bus deserve access to the city center or a centrally located station, I also think they also deserve a station that wasn’t originally supposed to be a temporary fix for something more permanent. The downtown station has issues, both in terms of safety and with how it fits into the overall fabric of our emerging downtown, but it feels like any debate around improving this situation has been closed off for the foreseeable future.
Happy to be proved wrong here though.
