GoRaleigh Bus System, now and the future

That’s disgusting. Shame on the city for not emptying the trash. Shame on the people that continue to pile crap on and around the trash can that is very obviously over stuffed.

A little more garbage and that probably qualifies for a public art installation.

Project 2025 is anti transit, anti localities, anti states rights. But it’s livable Raleigh biggest dreams if this wasn’t drawn by republicans.

Project 2025 is a think tank piece from 2023. The GOP candidate has rejected it. The same people who screamed Russia! Russia! Russia!, and 4 weeks ago were assuring you that the President was sharp as a tack behind closed doors are now trying to scare you with this fear. Do not give into the hysteria.

So we should trust what he says? LOL ok Jan.

The same think tank that gave us Trump’s 3 SCOTUS nominees. So…
The same candidate that has asked the oil industry executives for 1B for his campaign in exchange for dismantling green energy initiatives. So…

JD Vance is a fan of the heritage foundation. Several dozen Trump officials have ties with heritage foundation.

Donald Trump, noted truthteller. Well say no more nothing to worry about then.

He implemented 60% of the previous “mandate for leadership” proposals from the Heritage Foundation last time, and his entire future cabinet are connected to the project. You can even sign up if you want–they’ll vet you and give you a position in the new bureaucracy.

I completely lost track on what this thread is.

GoRaleigh Bus System???

Lol!

Relating to the topic, I got a new job last month and my commute via bus from just south of dt to north of dt (almost all ITB other than maybe a quarter mile) is 1 hr and 20 mins vs my 15 min drive.

I’d also have to use the Pecan Rd/S Wilmington station. Multiple stabbings and 2 shootings on that block already this year.

This is why most folks won’t take the bus. I have looked at taking the bus out to work in RTP. It would take 2 transfers and 2+ hrs.Takes me typically 25-45 min via car depending on traffic.

The comments are Project 2025s threat to transit and transit oriented development. IMO, they. do belong in this topic that’s talking about the bus system.

And that think tank? All people literally derived from and/or related to “The GOP candidate’s” former administration. If you truly believe he “rejects” it and won’t just be a puppet to install as much of Project 2025 as they possibly can, I’ve got a bridge to sell ya!

Random thought: I’m kind of surprised that there isn’t a bus that goes to Falls Lake. If that proposed whitewater facility below the Falls Lake Dam ever gets built, I hope the plan includes extending bus service to it. Maybe extend the 2 line a few miles further up Falls of Neuse, which goes right by the dam.

Donald Trump has nothing to do with the sprawling plan to do all the things he’s publicly said he wants that is organized by all the people that work for him. It is a pure coincidence that the whole thing is run by Russ Vought, Trump’s former Office of Management and Budget director and policy director of the Republican National Convention’s platform director, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, former deputy chief of staff Rick Dearborn, former Justice Department senior counsel Gene Hamilton and former acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller

And he even lamely said he had no idea about it after it started polling terribly!

Hit dog hollers.

GoRaleigh service changes are coming September 8. Among a few things, we’re getting 3 additional 15-minute-frequency routes: Routes 5 and 21, as well as a new Route 9 along Hillsborough Street and over to Western Blvd and Jones Franklin Rd.

That makes it, what, 8 routes running every 15 minutes? Plus the R-Line.

Project 2025 really makes it difficult to improve urban mobility. Instead of the DOT funding specific projects it instead would go to states with no limit on how the money is spend mostly funding for widening highways. Basically urban improvements or neglected in favor for widening highways
