Have not seen it but you are referring to this (posted on GoRaleigh social media):
Honestly the custom bus wraps are extremely cool and I think they should have a few on rotation at all times.
Saw it yesterday while at Bug Fest. Looks great.
I just saw a bendy bus going down Blount Street downtown. I wonder if they’re doing qualification runs for Route 1 today ![]()
Update on the 60 ft buses: They are wrapping them in traditional GoRaleigh livery. I think it looks really nice. Also I don’t know if this was noted before but they have doors on both sides. I don’t expect them to use both sides on Route 1 but ![]()
They had to order new seats, so they’re probably going to enter service with Go+ seats but they will be replaced with traditional modern GoRaleigh seats about a month after they enter service.
I don’t think I shared this last time but this is the bike rack on the inside of these buses. It has two spots.
Coming to Route 1 on Platform E October 12th!
Those bike racks are cool!
Perhaps next time the city/state sends a request or bid to the Fed Gov for any loan, money, grant, etc. we add these pictures and simply state, POTUS is a true American Patriot and an Inspiration!
Please send lots of money to help make DTR Great Again!

Does anyone know the story of the Edwards Mill/Wade Avenue Bus Lane? I was biking down Edwards Mill and was entirely baffled by it. There no stops nearby and it seems entirely isolated.
I always thought it was just intended to allow buses to turn around on Wade and access the arena and stadium?
It is only used for events… it is basically a U-Turn lane for buses to go back up the east bound ramp of Wade Ave an turn into the Arena/Stadium parking lot. I don’t know if I‘ve ever see it used (but I try to avoid that area during events… hence WFT for me today
).
It’s here! (And yes I was riding it as useful transit
)
I just noticed they also put a bike rack on the front, so I guess 4 bike spots?
P.S. it looks like GoRaleigh is still figuring out how to run such a frequent service. This one left 7 minutes after the last one, since they’d started bunching. Running a 10 minute headway in mixed traffic is hard.
How was the ride? Any smoother than the Gilligs?
Yeah! I mean it’s not my first time on a 60 ft New Flyer, although usually I’ve ridden XDE60s, (diesel electric hybrids) rather than XN60s (Compressed Natural Gas). I much prefer New Flyer Buses to Gilligs. All hail the Gillig bar but they have a pretty harsh ride with a decent amount of engine noise when compared to a New Flyer.
Been riding them pretty consistently since moving to Pittsburgh and can confirm, it’s a much better ride than the Gilligs.
