Wow! Good eye! I went to the Tweet and I’m like, why is this guy spamming Amazon Prime tweets (I didn’t realize “background” to mean of the pic, not the tweet).
Of all the buildings to use. How can we use this to our advantage?

Say whaaaaaaaat??? LMAO!!! Funny enough, I always joked that BB&T was our Gotham looking building that I could imagine Batman crouched on top of, peering out over the city, disappointed by the lack of crime to fight. But PNC???
I’ve seen localized ads in some of my “national” podcasts so could this be sort of the same thing?
Pic of The Platform and 400H cranes taken from S. Saunders Street. In the foreground on the right, you can see that they have started grading for the Park City South development.
the green bankalishi with its two pronged crown. if i recall the bldg was a dartboard for architecture critics from the begining.
I’ve never understood the hate for that one.
The Wells Fargo Tower looks like someone took a mall entrance and stretched it vertically and PNC is pretty obviously wearing a hastily-added hat. BB&T feels reassuringly solid next to them.
BB&T looks like the same guy from 1993 who thought beige and seafoam green were classy, and then assigned Cary their color palette, designed the color scheme.
Wells Fargo looks like someone built a cool building in 1999.
PNC looks like someone built a modern 2010 building out of reflective glass, has a parking pedestal in it, and had the foresight to put some condos in it for good measure.
I like PNC best, then Wells Fargo, then anything that will grow dowtown.
I’m completely opposite of your ranking of the 3 tallest towers. Give me Two Hannover first, Wells Fargo second, and PNC 3rd. I just can’t get past the lifeboat terraces and the relative size & weakness of that hat-crown.
Two Hannover carries the skyline most of the time–especially at night. The other two are alright but nothing special.
Big agree! I love how imposing that two-pronged green crown is, especially all lit up at night for sure! I stand by my Batman statement. That’s where he crouches and watches over Raleigh. Ready to beat up anyone that DARES to walk more than 3 feet from the legal outdoor drinking area of any given establishment

I wish the green were a sustainable white that could be illuminated different colors with RGB. I’m not just a fan of the faded shade of green it is. Also, I see it almost all day sitting at my “desk”, kitchen, living room, patio. Variation would do it some good.
You could try getting a regular job and not just stare out the window all day like a cat.
