DeezMobile……Yikes! char/s
Like me…
We saw the wiener mobile there recently. Glad to see there’s a pair of nuts to complete the package.
But it’s actually a pair of legumes. ![]()
Miscellaneous downtown photos today. Come down for a walking tour in uptown Charlotte @nicholas can vouch for my tours he has taken some.
I’m seriously considering it. Maybe we turn it into a group tour. ![]()
I’d be down. Let’s take the train!
I took a group of 25 plus from Charlotte mostly by train to Union Station in Raleigh and I gave them the downtown tour. They loved it.
Skyline from Dix Park and once the Omni fills in, you will have 4 taller towers in this shot. Of course, the Creamery is off a different angle from this vantage point.
Peace Street Bridge taking no prisoners!! One Ryder truck drove off this morning with the top totally peeled back and then here we go again!!
May they never get hired to drive a truck, ever again. Can’t read a simple traffic sign ![]()
I think this is like number 5 or 6 in just TWO weeks. SMH to the crazy.
Yes this is multiple accidents in a few weeks. Did some signs fall down or what? They need those blinking lights like they have at the Durham Can Opener bridge. Someone needs to put up a camera to capture all these accidents like someone did in Durham.
The city should install tire puncturers for vehicles that continue past the sign when it flashes that they are too tall.
AGREE. That Peace Street Bridge must be one Hell of a Bridge to have not been taken down considering how many times it has been hit. I hope someone is doing routine structural checks. I mean WTF. Edit to say that it may be up to the RR to put up additional signage on that bridge??
flat ties might lower many trucks enough to get under the bridge!
Holy shit this almost looks like a real city!!! We’re so close!!!
Other than a few AI mistakes and mispronunciations of Raleigh, this is actually a pretty good historical video about the city.
Great video as long as the data is factual and I assume most or all of it is.
Interesting comparison, in 1900 the population of Raleigh was 13,643. That same year Key West was Florida’s 3rd largest city with 17,114. By 1920, Key West had grown to 20,000 residents while Raleigh had eclipsed the 2 mile by 4 mile island with 24,418.
Crazy!
Side note, Key West reached it’s current population of 25,000 around 1950 and other than a spike to around 33,000 in the early 1960s, it’s largely stayed in the 25k range since. We all know where Raleigh sits now. ![]()
