Clearly there are several areas of our city, beyond the council of SloNoGo, that need some house cleaning. It is so frustrating to know there are people that are willing to invest capital in our city and they can’t because of this incompetence.

is this where a Westin Hotel is to be Built?

I wasn’t able to copy the link, been having trouble with my laptop, But it was from TBJ article on a 18 story westin hotel near crabtree mall.

The ghost building on the left side of this image is where the Westin is supposed to go. The former “Glen Tree” aka “Soleil Center” site.

Looks like a site plan submittal on the city’s website for a new 12 story retail/residential building with underground parking at North Hills.

My guess based on the demo square footage is replacing the parking deck at the SW corner next to JCP and Renaissance Hotel.

Too bad it isn’t the parking lot adjacent to the main entrance to the NH shopping center.

That will definitely come in time. I always figured the lot @mike mentioned would be redeveloped in tandem with the JCP when they finally close down, so I’d actually be happy if mike is right - only because that means 2 separate developments back there, rather than one large-footprint development.

Although, 150k sf demo “floor” area could also be the JCP and the parking deck remains?

I think it’s both the parking deck and JCP based on 150k sf?

If I’m not mistaken, JCP owns that building outright. Has there been any news of it closing or being sold?

This JCP is famous for being one of their best stores for decades. Something about a huge # of women’s dresses they sell. Still, I don’t think this store can save them.

JCP is 2 levels right? Deck is mainly 2 and 3 levels at some spots.

959,000 sf new gross floor area is huge though! hmm, but shows only 1 new building at 12 floors max. I guess best to wait a week or so until the plans are uploaded as well…

4381 Lassiter Mill is an oddly shaped parcel that goes around the JCP, the Target and the parking decks/spaces.

Exactly. The JCP isn’t what’s being targeted in the site review that’s being referenced here.

I heard from family yesterday that Penny’s was closing. I took it at face value, unsure where the source was.

But there is no place to build anything on the 4381 parcel. So it cannot be built on that…

Yeah, this is an interesting proposal here. Made even more interesting by the new deeds on several of the other parcels there in NH.

guess its probably too much to hope for connecting the road and pedestrian paths in a grid??
