I drove by everyday.
Thatâs the most basic Westin Iâve ever seenâŚhopefully theyâll put one downtown this decade
I cannot imagine paying the rents that Iâm sure these will be asking to live on C*pital Boulevard
Raleighâs a growing, desirable city, especially with young renters. This is the way.
I never said it isnât: this is literally the worst location in the city.
Is it though? 5 mins from downtown and north hills without the prices of those spots. Plenty of people probably banging down the door to get in here.
Highwoods is getting ready to redevelop their 1980âs office park next to this new apartment into a mixed use project. Basically from Capital Blvd to Glenwood is getting ready to look like North Hills.
Seeing that Lexington on the Green is asking about $1200, I can only imagine what these would go for.
Is it me or does this look more like a cheap hotel?
Capital might become trendy. It isnât now and hasnât been in several generations.
That said, anyone remember Carverâs Creek? My parents sure did enjoy that place.
Thereâs a lot of places within -7 minutes of downtown (not counting traffic) that donât front Raleighâs worst corridor. Iâm sure plenty of people who have no clue about the area will sign leases site unseen but you wonât catch me.
I would love to hear more about this.
I donât really know any more than that. Heard about it a couple months ago. Canât even recall where I heard it.
Their airport/deep suburb/3rd-tier city locations arenât very exciting looking. They put a lot more effort into downtown hotels or ones next to mega-hub airports.
Well, how the heck is âRaleighâs worst corridorâ ever going to improve unless someone takes the first step? Youâre a stoneâs throw from the Beltline, in walking distance to plenty of (authentic!) Mexican food trucks, and on the most frequent bus line in the city. Thereâs plenty to like about that location, who cares about a used car dealership or two?
I find that very unlikely considering they sold it to Dean Debnam late last year. Maybe heâll redevelop it but it wonât be Highwoods
Figured that drone was someone on here. Iâll re-adjust the picture size when I get to a computer.
From the ground:
Haha, busted! That was definitely me.
Sorry, I didnât mean to upset the Capital Boulevard Boostersâ Club. Frankly, itâs not going to improve until there is significant public investment, to completely rebuild the road with grade separation, which is going to take decades. Iâm not sure these apartments are even the first step you refer to considering they have a parking ratio of >1 space per bedroom. Nobody here is going to be walking anywhere, and who could blame them? I donât want to risk my life crossing a 10-lane car sewer for a taco either.
