For the now closed Cary Towne Center, Dave and Busters will live on on the Epic redevelopment and will eventually be in a “standalone adjacent building” on the mall property, per the Epic Games comm director.
Two items of note regarding Dave & Busters (and other future retail) for the mall site from the N&O article:
Elka Looks, corporate communications director for Epic Games, told The News & Observer in an email that Dave & Buster’s will be relocated to available space in the future Epic Games development
Looks said it’s still too early to provide specific plans, but added that the company intends to maintain some retail adjacent to the headquarters.
Sounds like they would keep some retail/restaurants along Walnut Street, which makes sense based on the lower height maximums there in the rezoning and further from I-40 access. Article also has a quote from the Cary mayor stating that they are still committed to the sports complex “on the mall site or somewhere else nearby”
Hi everyone. This is my first post, but I’ve been lurking for a few years. I figured I’d enjoy the nice weather and pop the drone up. Here’s some shots from flying around North Hills earlier today.
Welcome @OakCityDrone ! Great first post. I saw the elevated crane from Six Forks near the forum yesterday morning. The Walter should be clearly visible from there once topped out.
A couple of shots I got looking North today while walking around. Three similar pictures with slight differences as far as which buildings are pictured. Edit to add**** Open the photos in a new tab. You should be able to zoom in and still have a decent photo
On a quick side note. Anyone else annoyed the escalators at North Hills near Target is still broke? North Hills looks good, but this is really giving me a bad taste on how the maintenance in this development is being handled. I would have preferred regular stairs if they can’t keep up with the maintenance. It makes it look run down.
Has this been confirmed? Looks like the March start date is outdated since it says 2020. I I hadn’t heard anything about this lately but would love to be wrong of course!
