Raleigh Elections and Council Overall

I’m not as familiar with the B candidates. I met Minu Lee and he seemed like a level headed candidate on the same page as most of current council.

Thanks, appreciate the info

At-large Council candidates - Melton seems like a shoe-in to vote for. Forte seems like she’s at best a cipher and at worst sneakily anti-development. Are there any other interesting candidates in that group who might be worth voting for?

I’ll just chime in to say those were the 2 I voted for. I didn’t see other interesting options for Forte, Melton was a no-brainer re-elect.

Same question here. I will vote for Melton. But not 100% sure yet for the other at large seat.

Forte is the least bad option for the 2nd seat in my opinion, so that’s what I’m doing.

Stormie Forte was appointed to the District D seat when the elected candidate resigned. Now running at large.

Knows what’s going on. Check out her campaign positions.

She got my vote along with Melton for the two at large seats.

Thumbs up for Melton ! Stormie is fair and deserves a second term in my opinion,Lets not let a nimby steal the second spot. #JUSTSAYNOTONIMBYISM

Today is the day. I’m eager to see how the results come in. For those that like to vote on election day, please share a photo or comment on how it looks at your polling place.

I was voter #28 at my precinct this morning. My nextdoor neighbor was one of the election workers there
 When I left, there was a line out into the parking lot. Gonna be a busy day.

The Edenton Methodist location off Jones had no line at 7:30a and the Livable Raleigh gent and a MAB flyer passer outer were getting along.

I voted MAB, Melton (obviously), and Forte was a split-second decision at the polls. I’ll give her another term to see where she lands on stuff. In District B, I did vote for Megan Patton despite her being endorsed by LR, and despite disagreeing with her on a few issues, because she has stated her goals to increase transit and mixed-use neighborhoods. I don’t think she’s another David Cox, and that’s who she’s replacing. In addition, none of the other candidates really sparked anything for me. And if she turns out to be another David Cox, well that’s what elections are for next time around.

I was voter 333 at my precinct around 9:30 am. It was busy but not much of a line.

This may be a handy tip for the future. I dropped off my mail-in ballot at an early voting site on Saturday and they let me skip the long line so I was in and out pretty fast. And if you show your completed ballot to all the campaigners they leave you alone.

I was voter #95 here in Alabama. No municipal elections for me - just 10 constitutional amendments, lol. We govern my amendment here, it is the craziest darn thing. The guy across the table from me was raising hell about them all, lol.
There were more libertarians running for office here than democrats!

I was voter #338 at Edenton UMC an hour ago. First time I’ve ever been able to walk to my voting place, which was a nice touch.

Oh, and just to be clear, I early voted but my wife and I walked with a friend up there. I’d have more information (like number) but I didn’t go inside.

I assumed you were voting multiple times. Typical lib voter fraud.
