At this point I’m just gunning for a downtown Arena for the Hurricanes.
You understand Malik to “move up” to 2nd level tomorrow if he wants to, right?
Yes but we literally just moved down last year. We’re not just going to go back and forth. The benefits of moving down to level 3 far outweigh just being in level 2 due to the level of success our youth academy has. There are less restrictions on how much the kids can play with the main club now.
Garber did NOT want charlotte first……until Tepper showed up with his giant checkbook……& MLS being the pyramid scheme league that it is……then MLS got a hard-on for his wallet.
Prior to that Raleigh was the choice….this I know.
I also know that Raleigh is still a candidate for an MLS team IF…Raleigh gets it’s sh## together and funds a stadium.
Without a stadium….there will be no team or discussion of a team.
MLS will still be a pyramid scheme if this happens.
Yes. In fact, canes fans sung both O Canada and the Star Spangled banner in 2006. Canes fans sing national anthem- 2006 - YouTube
No it’s reflectuon time. It’s just a missed opportunity who knows we’re just speculatin what could’ve happened.
Maybe a retractable roof for MLB.
What I think I’m hearing is that Raleigh should have the first combination NHL/MLB stadium in the US. Great work everyone!
In the heart of EVERYTHING
It’s a plausible idea, I think Tom Dundon likes this market. He believes in us not to move the team anywhere he knew if we had investment like he did we would turn out he brought the team to save us from relocation. He did. Dundon wanted us to have an AAF team but that imploded on itself before that decision could be made. If I had Dundon contact I would contact him on that question. And the Grammarly app would be on full effect to while typing it

colby boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling, from block to block alongside the riverfront…the summers gone and the big dig is waiting…
i lived in raleigh for 40 years…i lived in charlotte for two. i for one would never want to be like charlotte.
Pretty awesome, and Rod still looks just as young as he was back then, really cool.
i dont know how many south Carolinians come to raleigh for a hockey game. i saw them in greensboro years ago and would never watch a hockey game again and havent. eh… but the name i think is sound. i just remember chasing down siding parts in the 90s from my house from fran.
Look online hard enough and you’ll find it. Might be able to reach out through his company
Its only 25 years old and new stadiums suck and new domed stadiums suck even more.
I don’t know about all that. If we’re talking about how new stadiums go about getting funding, with their billionaire owners with their hands out then yeah I agree with you. That’s pretty sucky.
But if we’re talking about a fan/gameday experience then I don’t agree. Pretty sure the brand new Rams stadium, Raiders stadium, and Vikings stadium are miles better than the Panthers stadium. One is a retractable roof and the other two are dome stadiums. One thing they all have in common? All recently just hosted or about to host the Super Bowl.
I don’t I mentioned anywhere in my previous post about being for a dome stadium? Stadium technology has vastly improved over the years and new stadiums take way more advantage of that than an older, 1990s era stadium like the Panthers. Stuff like stadium acoustics, turf/grass technology, among other things.
Secondly, never mentioned anything against tailgating? I don’t think American football can exist without tailgating IMO.
Lastly, since I have a feeling of what NFL team you root for. The Bills new stadium is going to be 80% covered by an overhang. Take that for what you will.
The Bills envision the new stadium seating between 60,000 and 62,000 fans, with room for up to 5,000 more spectators on a standing-room-only party deck, a capacity in line with historic attendance figures. Approximately 80% of the seats will be covered by a partial roof or overhang. The stadium could open as early as 2026.
Well, the indisputable fact is that the gameday experience in Buffalo is far and away better than Atlanta or LA. You can talk about stadium technology all you want but honestly - who cares? Turf and grass can be retrofitted into any old stadium (I think). Acoustics? Wtf? I guess that matters but the bills stadium is loud so again - who cares? For the record, I’m opposed to Buffalo building a new stadium.
Also - sorry, I guess I just made the assumption that you didn’t like to (or know how) to party.
Well, for a certain kind of fan. I’m relatively young, love football, and would have a lot of fun at a Bills game. NC State games generally fill that need around here, but less rowdy and with a friendlier vibe towards away fans which I prefer - I’ve had some really nice interactions with Clemson and Louisville visitors.
For a family, the Bills experience kind of sucks. The kids are uncomfortable, the drunks are offputting, it’s just not built for them.
