No, you can do that…well, no you can’t do that anywhere else. Unless you’ve been to the Sphere, I don’t expect you to understand. It’s not like going to IMAX.
@John, back me up here, Mr. Backstreet Boy?

While this one was an April fools joke, they are planning on breaking ground on a smaller Sphere in Maryland at the MGM next year.
Well, I wouldn’t know about seats where you can’t see the performers because I have only seen a show from a forward box suite. ![]()
That said, I have not heard about re-runs of shows without the performers. It doesn’t seem to be a thing (yet) for the BSBs, but there is certainly lots of opportunity for shows at the Sphere without live performers because the experience is so immersive & amazing.
@Brandonq I am not so sure that a smaller Sphere is a good idea. You really need to sell seats to make it profitable. Maybe they can trade the ballroom for a full sized Sphere instead in DC?
Now look at all the discussion my facetious Sphere post prompted! I was on vacay/kid spring break over April fools but loved the post when I got back and had to share.
My one Sphere experience was amazing. I saw the legit news about the Maryland venture and was immediately jealous.
They’ve been in the black in recent quarters, $SPHR is up about 400% since this time last year.
April Fools joke? But I have a feeling the NIMBYs would have this blocked.
They should demolish Boylan Heights to build it ![]()
Yep. Eminent domain. We can place the nimby in there own neighborhoods called “nimby town” called that similar to Chinatown in NYC. We won’t mess with them we’ll exclude them from everything. They can have there own government.
I went to see the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere. I read that since that show, it has been raking in the money!
That looks like way too much fun.
It was great, and worth the cost.
When they do a double feature of Wicked there, it might actually entice me to visit Vegas…
THIS IS OUR YEAR!!!
(as a Bills fan… please Canes… please don’t make me have to say this line again, year after year… I moved here a few years after the last Stanley Cup win. It’d be so nice to have ONE winning team in my back pocket hahahaha)
I’m going to miss seeing this on my way into work everyday this year
Anyway GO CANES!!
So you’re a Bills / Canes crossover fan? I wouldn’t mind a NFL championship for Buffalo and a Stanley Cup for the Canes.
I told fellow Bills fan @Phil a few days ago in this thread or one of the 4 other “stadium/sports” threads lol - my family (mom from Buffalo, dad from Cuse, I grew up in Rochester) is a Bills family. But I/we never really paid much attention to hockey, so while I’d CERTAINLY support the Sabres going all the way, I’d rather root for my “home” team here as far as hockey goes - which I still really don’t pay much attention to.
As for football, while I’m still all-in for the Bills, I’ve adopted the Panthers as my NFC team. Only way I’d ever root against the Panths is if they end up going against the Bills in the Superbowl. Luckily, that hardly seems possible these days
- though, there’s actually photos of me as a toddler in a Panthers shirt when they were a brand new team! So it was foretold.
Should’ve moved to Boston instead ![]()
If I ever root for a Boston team - ever - call the FBI and CIA because an evil alien has taken over my body.
