It’s all a state of mind.
This is extremely interesting. Planning for this type of situation goes neglected in most cases, even those that have the means.
Must look at all options early in life and plan it out well. I slight fall at old age can be costly as you experienced. Still the cost is insane.
Amazing how we can piss away so much of our assets all over the world and screw a great American.
We have to do better.
Any one have any news on Falcons Point at e lane and Tarboro or edenton court the development at Tarboro and the northeast corner of e. edenton
This meeting isn’t listed on the city’s website anymore. Anyone know if it was pulled?
I heard it was pulled as they may be modifying.
Was the wire service the first mention of a project on that site? I was unaware of any development proposal
Basically. A neighborhood meeting was posted on the city’s website. I had plans to go but rechecked today and it’s not listed anymore. The link to the pdf also does not work anymore.
Guess I’ll just stay home this evening.
30 townhomes all on one small footprint has gotta be the densest patch of row-housing being built in Raleigh recently, no??
Thanks for sharing. I’ve been curious about this for a while. I imagine still 18+ months away from tenants. Things move slow and fast around here!
The ones being built on New Bern now are so close facing each other it almost seems impossible to pull into the garage. It’s no exaggeration maybe 15 feet across from each row of townhomes facing each other, and appears even closer with the balconies sticking out.
I’ll try and get a picture at lunch.
looks like its a combo of 4 lots for total 0.68 acre. seems dense.
My wifes Grandad passed away last year, but they lived in a “treasure island” house in queens since the 50s, and it changed my opinion on what it totally possible from a driveway experience. Essentially 1.5 feet on each side of your car to take the driveway between the houses. People figure it out when that is what you have.
Here is a good example. I actually enjoyed backing their car out of the garage in the back. Stick your head out of the drivers side and keep your side REALLY close to the wall.
At least those residents can pull straight into those spots. Here you will need to make 4 point turn and pull some Austin Powers shit to leave each day.
Oh my god hahahahahaha - the dumpster would barely even fit between those buildings
It’s difficult to tell, but it looks like these townhouses don’t have driveway access from the alley? WTH? I’d make them ONLY have car access from the alley.
These are ridiculous. Same developer under a different name that has all but abandoned the townhouse community further up New Bern. Shady
Is there any development or transit innovation in DTR you are excited about? Real question.
I think someone briefly mentioned it already but DHIC is building 156 affordable housing units for 55+ individuals.
Here’s a link to their website:
This will be interesting to see:
“Ms. Strampe, explains, ‘We wanted to incorporate the church’s history into the new development, so we’ll repurpose brick, pews, and stained-glass windows from the sanctuary in the new buildings.’”
