The Weld - Hammell Dr Developments

Dunno. Looks like a diesel hammer in the background driving those into the ground.

Beams might just be more foundation pilings.

How many minutes is it from the weld to downtown south

You can map that on google maps and choose mode of travel from by foot to by car, etc.

I love this view … Matt Robinson is always taking great shots of downtown.

We might see night shift

That new South St tower is really doing some heavy lifting as far as increasing an appearance of density!

I know it’s important to many to have a prominent skyline but I continue to care more about actual density, not the appearance of one.
Some of these substantial edge projects stretch the boundaries of what can be part of the contiguous urban fabric of dense development in the future, but they aren’t necessarily immediately contributing to the density and experiences in the very core. I am not against this project at all, but I don’t think that it is yet contributing to density as measured by a reduction in automobile reliance in the same way that 400H or RUSBus do.

I don’t think its asking to much to have both! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Clearly it’s fine to have both, but this particular project isn’t going to compel more retail and services in the walk shed of the named downtown districts. While close, it’s not even in the official downtown boundary, and it isn’t particularly walkable.

At the end of the day, I prefer development that’s going to get more people out of their cars and onto their own two feet.
