Probably like this, but taller.
Nice. Got the CAMeron Village and Alexan cranes, plus Capital Square with its parking progress, as new additions besides the obvious.
Whatâs wild to me about this screenshot is how dense and âcityâ this view looks⌠and you donât even have most of the âmainâ skyline (the Big 3 - minus Wells Fargo of course). As the skyline keeps expanding West, it just gets better and better!
That ugly parking deck is sticking out
And the slabs of concrete look odd or oddly placed
I mean the balconies will probably look at least a little bit better with some railings lol
I know this might be a shock, but⌠these arenât done yet.
It may basically be a five over one with a giant ugly parking deck, but this is one of the most interesting ones in the triangle Iâm aware of, given the angles and shape of the building, the way itâs going to interact with the new roundabout eventually, and the connection to the greenway
Yeah, we live really close to this and are happy with how it looks.
I⌠wonder if theyâre going to do anything to neaten that up. The greenway looks kinda gross there. Manhole center stage. Overgrown with vines and weeds.
I feel like developers are trying real hard to manufacture a âriver districtâ for Raleigh but Iâm not exactly sure that Rocky Branch is up to the task. Same for Big Branch up in the North Hills âInnovation Districtâ, or Pigeon House Branch by Capital Blvd either.
Not sure how much but they are definitely tidying it up. ASR has a bridge over the creek from this side. It will be their back porch - they wont want it messy.
Rocky branch will not fill a river district and I donât believe that was the intent. Its more of a greenway forward development which Raleigh could use more of.
There certainly is a lot that can be tidied up there but the manholes are there to stay. I have been biking on the greenways a ton in the last few weeks and it seems like 90% of the greenways are on sewer easements from what I can tell.
If the manholes are gonna be there, why not paint them and make them fun?
I was over there yesterday, too. Not pictured is the other manhole covered in dog bags baking in the direct sun (with a trash can not far away). I just donât understand humans.
There are a lot of invasive plants around here. Good luck to whoever is going to try to remove the kudzu (all those vines) from this area. Itâs a major undertaking.
yeah and HOLY HELL do they stink in the heat of summer
At one point NC State addressed the kudzu issue at Centennial Campus by bringing in a herd of goats, which find kudzu to be a delicacy and eat it preferentially over just about anything else.
I love that idea. I wonder if Kudzu makes for tasty goat cheese?
