Village District Developments

Don’t add anything other than money and other things that apartments bring. The idea of 55+ is more to keep kids, especial collage age ones out. 55+ are not retirement homes where people go to die, they are places where older people and have there own lifestyle. Which is not loud all not parties for one.

But right down the street from a college… why would that be preferable?

Are older people and younger people not supposed to come in contact with each other lol?

I’m 38 and I already don’t want to be near people under like 25 lol!

I’m 21 and I completely understand.

I mean I’m kind of kidding. But you know what I mean! Lol

Well I’m 70 and do not mind being around flirty 20 something girls. Guess they think I’m harmless  Just do not like being around lot’s of noise when I’m not where the noise is coming from.

As I get older, the last thing that I want is to just be around people in my age group. For me, the whole point of living in a condo building with an elevator is that I won’t have to move because I can no longer take care of a yard, or walk up the stairs, or take care of a big house, etc.

Dawg that’s kind of my point…

That 55+ only apartment communities that aren’t retirement homes are weird. Regular ass apartments can and do have people of all ages and walks of life. Why push for a 55+ only apartment community in an area that serves college kids, families, and 55+ aged people alike? lmao

As almost 55, I do not want to live with college kids down the hall. Smell of constant weed, thin walls, nope.

Weed, hops, pine boughs…can’t we all get along ?

There are a lot of boomers riding Harley’s and smoking weed. It’s not just young people. I’d think that there are other ways to make sure that you aren’t likely to be living with a bunch of college students other than resorting to an age restricted property.

You and I are in the same boat except I’m you plus 2. I’ll share their weed but don’t want to hear them.

That was pretty much my reaction too @R-Dub, lol.

Look man, if Boltman is not a Spliff man, that’s up to him but since he’s a Transfer man…well, I guess he’s got a birds eye view to all the folks - young, old, established or not, college folx, families, 55’ers and what not - all rolling through the food hall but he’s (maybe) got thicker walls…
He can watch or not.
Listen or not. Fo-shhizzle…Right!?

This has pretty much already been observed. But, when is the place signage going to change to ‘The Village District’ ? I figured that those corners would have been carved out rather quickly once the name changed.

Hopefully a more creative name comes before that (meaning the sooner the better). I have no problems changing the name but there was zero effort into renaming it.

I’m still hoping out for something different. West Village, Capital Village, Carolina Village, Bellwood (name of the street to the east of it). There are plenty of options to leave it as “Village District”.

the only people renaming anything are the shopping center from Cameron Village. Its not like Cameron this and Cameron (apartments, stores, restaurants) have to change their business just because the shops changed out of fear of being cancelled. I agree, lame attempt to come up with something that could keep “Village”

The signage convention is going to require some thought with the new monogram/logo as well. We can’t have ‘VD’ to replace ‘CV’ as it stands right now.

As a graphic standard, this one just doesn’t do well for a clear indication of visual presence when driving by, unless they opt for a single ‘V’.
