You guys!!! Some of the sea foam green has been covered up! Look at the now grey color blocks under the windows on the right side of the picture… I wonder if there will be more covered up?
I hope it all gets covered up. If not, it will remind me of Soviet, cold war era, government housing.
I was starting to get used to the seafoam green.
#NeverForget
The trim should be white. The grey is a big improvement.
That or make the other larger seafoam green areas grey as well. I think there are just too many colors, which include seafoam green, the red brick color, white, black and now grey…
I wonder if the larger seafoam green areas will also be painted. This is pretty new I think, so there could still be some time for changes?
I am so excited for this news. They grey is a big improvement.
The gray was already there on the inset balconies and the ground floor brick storefronts.
The larger sections of seafoam look pretty bad in person because all of the seams of the siding panels are super obvious. I’m not sure the gray will help that much.
The little window air conditioner patches have trim that was added on especially for those patches of paint (they serve no other purpose), which just adds to the WTF factor for me.
I realized that the neon “Roll Out” sign is the building’s bike parking. I do really like that detail!
Well darn. That is disappointing.
So now they’ve just added an additional color to an already extremely busy color-scheme LMAOOOO
I thought the seafoam looked better. Also didn’t care much.
That gray was already there inside some of the balconies. It just wasn’t obvious because it gave the illusion that it was just the white siding in shadows. But yes, they are making it more prominent with the little window air conditioner patches, which I still do not understand.
I wish they’d just paint the white anything else. Even seafoam green. At least it’d be interesting. Drove by there on Sunday and was happy to see the progress with phase 2 and the road open, but holy shit that white siding is so overpowering in person. Ugh.
Can’t wait for this. Do we know which businesses will go in?
Nicklepoint Brewing is going in here as far as I know.
Took a little detour into the inner sanctum of the Platform.
I know i have a lot of opinions about the building (it’s a toad), but I like some of the details like the yellow bike racks (yes, add another color to the palette) and the railroad tie benches.
Drove by it yesterday and was marveling at the way the building interfaces with cabarrus. I hope they get a killer restaurant tenant for that corner space on the east side of the building
