Also, you’ll see that Ocean Dr. is now just a one way street with a cycle track. Even then, the one-way traffic is often shut down for pedestrians only during event weeks/weekends.
I’d bet that this development will have a zero percent chance of aging well. I’ll give the designers some slack and rate this design 2/10.
They are going to need to plant a lot of trees and bushes.
2/10 is very generous. You are a good man.
I think he forgot a zero and meant 2/100.
Yeah, it did seem a bit off…
At least we aren’t all jumping to conclusion and staying positive. Good vibes!
I think this through way is interesting. Doesn’t look like it’ll accommodate cars like The Hollow so maybe just pedestrian? This is from Dupont.
The entrance from Cabarrus is taking form.
Is that toothpaste green vertical section gone now, or is it just not seen in this photo?Oh, never mind. I see it peeking out at the ground floor.
Great pictures, thank you
Note to architects and developers: you’re getting dangerously close to a “new-modern” Soviet Union style architecture…
Except less affordable.
So I guess they are trying to make that porch area look like a train platform?
Would be cool if they planted some greenery up there… the shade is nice if there are businesses down below…
Really love how you can see all the white and seafoam green from this angle:
Also nice how the good looking part of the building faces nothing.
It’s a stout building, but at least it’s also unattractive.
MAN what an ugly f**king building hahahahahaha
It’s fine. Compared to some of the more try-hard 5-over-1s, this one fades into the background. Facing the rr tracks with one of the blander walls makes sense in theory but they should have taken into account it’s actually the most viewed angle from downtown.
Still, when Phase II, RUSbus, and the future old Depot development go up, there will be much fewer angles where the white is visible from.
TL;DR That building will look pretty good when we can’t see it!
Hah! The brick sides are pretty nice
