I was really hoping it would be all seafoam green. Maybe put some mermaid decor around… Oh well. There’s always phase 2.
Not gonna lie, the seafoam green accents with the mostly white siding doesn’t look half bad. I think it really stinks up the place when alllllll the other colors and materials start crowding and making the whole thing super busy (brick, black siding, the different browns, etc).
Rode my bike to Bolted over the weekend and this area feels incredibly different with the fence gone and activity picking up along that street.
That auto garage and warehouse probably won’t remain in their current uses for long… and if that whole strip activities it’ll be a much better version of Person St - as it won’t have the highway running through the middle of it…
Looks like the yard at Attica.
Is the cage in the middle for solitary confinement?
Well it looks like shades of sea foam green are popping up everywhere. It must be Pantone color 2023. These are the exhibits from Durham today. If you can’t beat ‘em, might as well join ‘em.
Is the Vega actually open yet? @OakCityDylan has a friend who was supposed to move in this summer but it had been very delayed.
@svp is the realtor on that condo you speak of. I actually just got a video walkthrough today of said condo! It looks amazing! Great views of DTD!
LOL. I stay in Atlas and it looks like a couple of the units are occupied in Vega. All of the exterior construction is done, but still looks largely vacant.
You will start to see it fill up. They are now closing by floor. Top down. They do have some items left but thankfully it’s moving along.
Took a closer look today. At least 7 or 8 units with furniture on the balconies overlooking the park.
This difference here, however, is that these buildings you’ve pictured uhhhhhh don’t look like SHIT lmaoooooo
Yeah. Agree. These buildings did a much better job with design in general. I should have said - here are examples of sea foam done right.
I’ll be real, while I don’t envy Durham’s “skyline” (lol) - I do think they, overall, have much better designed 5-over-1 type apartment buildings… well, minus the hideous ones you see IMMEDIATELY upon coming in off the durham Freeway lmaoooo
Well, Platform added exterior lights today. They’re super bright, and situated low on the building, so they shine right in your eyes when walking at street level. Can’t imagine a restaurant occupying the Platform retail space and wanting to have outdoor tables under those retina-burners.
They’re absolutely unnecessary. A completely uncalled-for assault on the night.
Yeah I walked out of my house this morning while it was still dark and the lights blasted me halfway down the first block of Saunders . I found myself hissing a little bit…
What in the absolute hell with this building… LMAO
It’s like a prison yard after an inmate escape. I just don’t understand why. Did they have to one-up the used car lot across the street?
