Tell me now - it honestly would not take that much more digging to get under that rail road track!!! Also taken today.

And FWIW, we don’t need to make this tall enough for 18 wheelers. I was in Charlottesville the other day and they have a 10’ tall bridge on the main road through campus. Get a firetruck under it and call it good.

Haven’t we tried this already in both Raleigh and Durham with lots of destroyed trucks?

This corner is so sad. I wish the Fairweather folks would take some ownership of the street trees/landscaping. Two trees are missing and another is almost dead. The useless pole is ugly and should be removed.

I’m sure there are “reasons” for not doing anything (the corner has been in this condition for a long time), like wanting to wait for the signal installation at the intersection since that will probably come with enhancements. Or maybe someone knocked the trees down and the HOA is still deliberating about what to do. I don’t really care. Trees should be replaced quickly because they take time to mature. The Peace (cortland glenwood south) street trees are the gold standard for new developments IMO, but they have irrigation. You can still have healthy street trees without irrigation though, so I hope this building finally takes action.

Residents have complained, complained and complained…the powers that be finally came and removed said dead trees but so far no replacements. Totally agree that something should be done. I understand from one resident that replacements are coming in the Fall. Street trees do not fall under the HOA. Our HOA handles maintenance of our building and rarely if ever step outside that lane. PS. Also agree our dead bushes need to be replaced outside on our property. Again, I think the powers of the HOA waiting for planting season (Fall).

Copy that, definitely need to wait for planting season now so I’ll check back in the fall. What about the pole?

The townhomes across the street have opportunity with their street trees too. Fairweather gets theirs fixed and hopefully a little osmosis happens so the rest of the block starts looking better too. I’d imagine Maeve will keep up with their trees at the end of the street.
