The fire fundamentally changed the nature of how wood frame construction is done. I think that it had to do with eliminating continuous vertical timbers through floors.
Fire-stopping between floors after plumbing/electrical penetrations, and fire breaks within truss floor systems so fire can’t spread horizontally or vertically within a framed wall or floor.
Essentially just compartmentalizing any open cavities within a framed structure

Yes but I don’t work on other peoples houses. Just my own. Professionally, I’m on the civil construction side of things.
I’m an Civil/ENE PE, but don’t know enough about residential construction to come close to passing a GC test. Need to look at pushing a gabled roof out to a full dormer on the rear. Oh well…
