TBJ piece on this just dropped; no new details though. https://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2021/11/15/developer-rezoning-warehouse-district-raleigh.html

I recently saw a post that Raleigh Denim was closing on a new building with intent to move their Curatory.
I wonder what might backfill the existing storefront / production space here…?

324 Dupont Circle.

Across the tracks from the Raleigh Union Station. It’s in rough shape I wonder if that’s just fine for them or looking for a complete overhaul of the property.

That’s the next block over from this rezoning.

Yep, just thought it worthy of living in this thread since it’s immediately adjacent…

I’m glad to see them taking down space in this little strip of warehouse units. I think it’s a fantastic area especially with The Platform development and everything else popping up on that side of the tracks.

The bigger news is who’s going in that warehouse next door! :zipper_mouth_face: #comingsoon

It went through a city process, right? I think we’re being cagey about public info

BTW, apparently the initial neighborhood meeting for this has zero participants. I’m asking for info on the next one in case anyone wants to join. I’ll share once I have it.

Looks good to me. Historic structures to mostly remain.

The yellow building relatively to potential development in the area. Notice the Dillon tower.

I really like that these projects are keeping the historic properties while adding a ton of density, activation, and residents.

Wow at the change if things play out like in that bottom pic. The Dillon, which currently towers over that area, gets dwarfed.

BTW, I attended the neighborhood meeting last night and there was exactly 1 other person on the call other than the presenters that chimed in to ask questions, and they’re a neighbor of mine here at the Fairweather. No objections on the call. Like the Creamery, Turnbridge intends to make the street-level experience optimal and integrated. Some of this will depend on what the City does with Commerce Pl. I really hope they make it ped only permanently. No real new info was presented.

The New York company behind the Creamery development in Raleigh’s Glenwood South has turned its gaze to the city’s Warehouse District for its next mixed-use tower.

Can’t read the article. But exciting stuff, seems like this group moves pretty quickly.

Haha just read the article and came here to share. I guess I should’ve shared the article and then read it, since you beat me to it!

They mention 1 new building with up to 20 stories of residential or office mixed use, but say it’s on 2 parcels. This image has me confused. Are they building it over Dawson St? That would be a first… Also, the “historic preservation” in the parcel on the right is now just a grassy field/parking area after the demolition in the past year or so.
