So, who’s the Raleigh version of ALP ? LFG!
Kane Realty is the Raleigh giant version of Austin Lawrence Partners.
Minus the condo / ownership aspect…
Looks like the elevations from the final plan were never posted. In case anyone is curious

Have we traded Sea-foam Green for Cheeto Orange?
Oh Lordy don’t tell me we need another emoji. ![]()
It’s required by project 2025.
As big a downgrade this is from the original proposal, I can at least very much appreciate A: the more uniform/less busy design of the facade - seems to be few materials and fairly even toned color scheme, even if that scheme is 50 Shades of Grey - and B: RETAIL. Looks like, if one of the spaces is the lobby entrance, that there are at least 5 if not 6 retail spaces included. THAT is how you contribute to the city fabric even when building another fairly plain-jane apartment building. I also will add C: love the BIG ASS WINDOWS.
I AGREE. I really did like the first proposal so much better. But I am trying really hard not to be a Debbie downer on this project. Given what we have now and the previous issues with past tenants, I just want a total redo of this block. It will be a big upgrade for the entire Warehouse West End Entertainment district or whatever it is we are in now.
I know cost have gone up and I am sure that is why many of these projects have cut corners. But yay on the retail and yay on the windows.
Looks like the last update shared on this project was in Nov, so I did some digging. Per the Raleigh Development Portal, they applied for a number of permits between January and June. The permits are “Ready for Issuance”, but none have actually been issued. Nothing else on the portal for the past three or four months. Google didn’t turn up much.
Anyone else have other updates?
Doubtful but IMO they’ll either only deliver the shorter, more 5-over-1 style 2nd proposal or…. will drop out entirely as apartment development is about to hit a lull.
It looks like the final Site Permit Review didn’t pass (on 7/29) and a new final review date isn’t listed yet.
This is just a guess, but I think that final review needs to be approved before anything much else happens. They’re clearly spending real time and real money on this.
My understanding is that they are still trying to put this project together. They are hopeful to do something within the next 6 months. Fingers crossed. I really, really want to get rid of the eye sore we have now and have a nice new building.
