Blue Ridge Corridor

It’s going to be massive from up close, too. The view from the street by the NCMA is already impressive. Also didn’t get a pic since I was driving by.

Went by the newly opened portion of Hillsborough, can’t wait for the multi-use paths to connect to NCMA and NC State

Unfortunate that there isn’t any landscaping between the path and the roadway—it might make some folks a bit uncomfortable while using the path.

The lack of sidewalks on this stretch before was pretty egregious, especially during state fair time when tons of folks would have to walk along here at night next to moving traffic. Last year I even saw a guy in a wheelchair trying to make his way down the grass. This is a huge improvement, curb-tight or not.

It’s nice of them to place the bumpers such that cars get extra cushioning from pedestrians when they veer off. Very smart design that could save lives (well…that matter :us: )

I’ll take what I can get. Wide paths are great.

Drove by the pedestrian bridge over Wade Ave tonight and they’ve resumed digging on the side again. Guess this isn’t dead like I feared. And @Street_Grid was correct with the timeline just not really having started yet.

Gonna add this here, since it’s fairly close to this area.

The Butcher’s Market is getting into the game over here now. This is Lake Boone Trail across from Guasaca and the former Bottle Rev. They currently have Cary and Raleigh locations, but like Falls of Neuse area, as well as a few further out towns. I’d love to see them downtown, but this is still super close to the Art Museum, PNC, etc. And me. Not sure when they’ll open, but coming along well.

That’s awesome! Butcher’s Market is wonderful. The best meats and accoutrements.

NCMA was super busy today. Also saw they were building something next to the park’s visitor’s center. Not sure what it is.

They’re putting in musical swings. They should be lots of fun.

Blue Ridge corridor continues to grow. New development coming to Blue Ridge Rd & Harden Rd(near the NCMA). Not able to locate renderings yet, but portal is saying multi-family dev with retail and parking deck. I did see drilling equipment on site today.

I work near there and turn at that intersection every day. Ive been wondering what was going on there. Ive seen various people, surveyors, etc out there of and on for several months now. Figured something was coming.

Our nice, elegant, NCMA west building is now going to be loomed over by a cheap, poorly designed 5 over 1. I can’t wait!

Think of the shadows from that tower! I won’t even be able to see the paintings!

I’d rather have an elegant tower like the municipal campus proposal. Besides, this is the Northern Hemisphere. There won’t be a shadow from a building to its north.
