Blue Ridge Corridor

I saw this from the 440E entrance ramp off of Wade Ave (going West of course) - I was quite surprised!

I saw that crane about 20 minutes ago and I believe it’s even taller now… How many stories will this building be?

The building is supposed to be 10 stories, but will look prominent b/c it is on a ridge. I’ll check the top of the parking deck again this afternoon and see if it is visible from over her at Wade Park. (I wish I had access to the top floor of our building, I’m sure you could see it from up there.)

I just went downtown for lunch. Driving back west on Wade and Ridge Road, this building is really going to stand out and be enormous. I hope the plans firm up for the other portions of this larger project and we can have a third mini Blue Ridge Road skyline pop up. (I couldn’t get a pic, but the crane looks much taller than it really is from this angle)

Still waiting for that hotel in Wade Park by Edwards Mill… Any day now (I’ve said for 11 years)

After the Hurricanes game last weekend, there is red mud all over the street from where cars parked there. Would love to see a hotel on that bare spot.

Yeah I’m happy for the game but holy crap what a mess left in our neighborhood. Trash and mud everywhere. We even took a bag and picked up some of the trash that made it down to our street, which was a first.

Wonder what chances there are that some of these lots go for a 20-story rezone in the future when land values inevitably skyrocket even higher…

Managed to SAFELY get a pic of the this new crane from Wade Ave (westbound) as I was getting onto the 440E ramp. This thing is…… HUGE:

For reference; circled in yellow is the NCMA smokestack… red is the new crane :flushed:

Wow that’s gonna be quite the change for the view from that area. Especially when those flyover ramps are completed.

So long as the rest of the buildings in that development will be the same height or taller… there will most definitely be a new skyline from this angle! Imagine if parcels to the left and right of that plot (across from NCMA) continue being built up then…

Couple more views of this crane. Coming down Blue Ridge from Rex:

From the NCMA Art Park parking lot:

If you’re always this close to my neighborhood, you need to come down to Bru’s and have a beer with me and Kim. Lol

I keep forgetting to go up and see this construction site in person. Excited to see this project pop up in my view everywhere.

I meet some buddies at NCMA for our “rUn cLuB lol” on Tuesdays after work! But I’d be happy to meet y’all one of these days.

The Gucci’s are BIG run clubbers. They used to miss the DTR meet ups because of run clubbin’.
