Came here to post this. This is obviously huge. Exactly what the MLB to Raleigh movement needed. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if they came out with a proposal to have it in Downtown South. Dundon is well connected, so I imagine he can come up with the money.

FINALLY, we can talk about this! I’ve been hinting about it for months but wasn’t allowed to talk specifics. Dundon is in. Raleigh is the plan. Stadium location is being worked out.
This isn’t just Dundon saying this on a whim. This has been in the works for a while now. We are much further along than most would believe.

Whoa! Huge news. Obviously it is just talk now, but a billionaire owner is the#1 thing Raleigh/ the Triangle needs to be a legitimate option.
It made me nervous that he first said North Carolina (which could obviously be Charlotte) but he later specified Raleigh.

Downtown South is ready, all we needed was a billionaire take that the other NC city. We have no boundaries we have the only stadium site planned.

Downtown South obviously makes a ton of sense. Also I know a lot of people on this site wouldn’t like to hear it but dundon did just get rights to develop around PNC.

Not to open this powder keg, but I’m almost certain if Dundon is behind it, the new ballpark would be near PNC. No way is he going to put one of his properties in a place that can compete against his new entertainment district.

Well that area has to be zoned for sports remember it was a struggle for Downtown South. I’d imagine it could be hard because the doofuses at livable Raleigh might fight against it.

Have you warned him that it should not be on state property, and that downtown South is the most viable option, becasue with the batshit Nimbyism in Raliegh will be hard to get another rezoning.
To put whatever he wants, or is it any specific zoning?
