That dma passing could happen next year I wonder how many households difference between us and them.
I also think Steve Malik, and John Kane might try to stop this from happening I have a bad feeling about them.

I wanna be clear that I too want the team to be called Raleigh
TBH I like the name Raleigh Capitals since it’s historical. Unfortunately we’re at the mercy of some rich guys who may think “Carolina” is more marketable than “Raleigh”, but who the heck knows? Seems like the kind of thing that a fan campaign could actually influence!
I would accept another “Carolina” team only if they are the Carolina Pines.
Or Carolina Reaper
I prefer Raleigh Oaks if we’re going nature and green theme.
I think the “Oaks” branding is tired at this point. Like, ok, oak trees are f**king everywhere. We can highlight more unique Raleigh lore.
I vote “Raleigh Sewer Worm Balls”
Yeah, it’s pretty generic. Lots of cities across the country have oak trees in their logos, Austin FC has a live oak in their logo, and there’s a whole city named Oakland.
Hurricanes is a great one that’s actually regionally relevant.
The Raleigh Hawgs in a bow to our BBQ heritage.
Raleigh Capitals!
Carolina Smoky’s (for the Great Smoky Mtns)
I saw Carl Yastrzemski play for Raleigh in 1959. I was at the game the night that he won Carolina League Player of the Year. I was 11 years old.Carl played for Boston 22 years, had 11,988 at bats,3419 hits,.285 career batting average, lived 84 years 161 days. Batted left threw right.
I wonder what it would cost to acquire the Oak City Meatballs name
It would make no sense for our team to be named the capitals just because we are the state capital. Only DC and Philly make sense
This is New York City erasure - the nation’s first capital!
Raleigh Research. Raleigh Dogwoods. Raleigh Acorns. Raleigh
Carolina Lighthouse, Carolina Aviators. Carolina Flight. Carolina Monarchs.
Among these possible names we’re tossing around, Carolina Reapers is hands down my top pick. Just my two cents
The Carolina Reaper pepper is probably trademarked and also invented in South Carolina. So not sure if that is a good name.
The Raleigh Bee’s, an ode to Mayberry and Aunt Bee who ended up moving to the Triangle in retirement. Fans could be called the Beehive. Fits with the Hornets in Charlotte.
The Tobacco Road Devil Wolves. Primary colors are Wolfpack Red, Tar Heel Blue, and Duke Blue. The logo is of a devilish looking wolf with ram horns.
Some may call it an abomination.
Everyone knows today’s youth (and, honestly, middle ages) know and love Andy Griffith Show references!
Honestly, Bees would be cool on its own merits if it wouldn’t automatically draw parallels with the A’s. Love the Reapers idea, but the point about it being trademarked is a good one. West Coast teams already have ties to Pilots and Aviators.
Carolina Hounds or Mustangs would be fun (plays off the state dog and horse). Smokies is cool as well.
