Not the Smokies. All anyone would talk about was Raleigh being 4 hours away from the Smokies.
I can hear the buzz of the vuvuzelas now!!!
No offense but a lot of the ideas here are either lame, generic, or unobtainable. Why not a throwback to the infinitely cooler name for the soccer team before it was genericified: Raleigh Railhawks?
NCFC should bring back RailHawks with them going up a division this year.
One man’s “cool” is another’s “try-hard 90s throwback”
As long as it’s not the Raleigh BaseballyMcBaseballFaces…
As seen on Reddit, the Carolina Copperheads
That reminds me of the Carolina Cobras, the old Arena Football team.
Arizona gonna be mad they lose their monopoly on snakes
I like Carolina Aviators
Carolina Carpetbaggers?
Bees also has some history in NC baseball. Here’s an interesting quick read about the Chowan Bees from my hometown.
im good with the ‘carolina’ something or others.
for me, i was born in raleigh 54 years ago, as a now roanoke va resident, i would possibly do 2 trips to watch mlb in raleigh. per season
Well Guys, I came so close to not posting this today. Most likely, no one will agree with me on this ! What I would like to see happen concerning Raleigh MLB is this. At the top of the Stadium in Downtown South is a great sign, " Home Of The Raleigh Capitals". Also a bronzed statue located at the front gate, Carl Yastrzemski, Played 1959 with The Raleigh Capitals, 1959 Carolina League Player Of The Year, 22 Seasons with The Boston Red Sox, 11,988 at bats, 3419 hits, Career Batting Average .285. There are so many people living in Raleigh today that does not know about Carl Yastrzemski playing days in Raleigh! What a Super Scene, Seeing The Raleigh Skyline in the background of our Stadium Outfield Wall! Lou, would you mention this to Tom Dundon?
How about the Raleigh Yastrzemskis?
I hate the Red Sox as much as any non-Yankee fan can and still think a little nod to Yaz would be nice. He’s a titan of the game and it shows Raleigh has history with the sport.
(How far are we putting the cart before the horse here? Very.)
As long as seafoam green is featured prominently in our uniforms, I’ll be happy.
The Raleigh Robins. Keep it simple and always use alliteration.
Carolina Copperheads works with the alliteration. I’m actually way in favor of that.
