I remember when The Raleigh Capitals had dark blue pin stripe uniforms, dark blue caps & they were beautiful, classy.
I’d rather take inspiration from Derek Jeter’s former team and my hometown, the Greensboro Bats…

Raleigh Red Wolves could also work, but potentially have too much tie in to State. I think of it in reference to the actual Red Wolf population out near the coast, but most people probably think of NC State.
Carolina Reapers isn’t half bad, but most MLB names are not quite that aggressive. (given that there are two socks, 3 song birds, the the angles angles, the dads, baby bears, bridge abutments etc, and that Tampa changed from Devil Rays to just Rays to please complainers) And yes I know it refers to a pepper, but it still sounds edgier.
Triangle Traffic Jams is another option, though I’m sure Atlanta and LA would have a problem with that.
Too bad Pittsburgh already has the Pirates (for some strange reason). That would be a great one (like ECU Pirates)

Second place goes to ‘Carolina Reapers’ – I’ve been a fan of that name for a team since the Fayetteville Marksmen began doing a rebrand to the name for a game or two each season. The logos are really, really cool and incredibly well done in my opinion.
Could go Raleigh Reapers for a slight differential from the pepper and for the alliteration.
You know if we had a City Connect Uni it would be “Oak City” something.
