“Vietnamese firm VinFast and said the company plans to spend as much as $6.5 billion, and produce both electric batteries and vehicles at Chatham County’s Triangle Innovation Point megasite, formerly known as the Moncure Megasite.”
Potentially over 10,000 jobs.
It’s on the potential Fayetteville-Raleigh Commuter Raleigh project.

No it’s not. But it is along the CSX S-line, which could connect Sanford and points south to Raleigh.
It’s also interesting that the Triangle Innovation Pointe has over 2,100 acres of land, so it still has plenty of room for major more future jobs. The TBJ article does suggests FedEx could announce a huge warehouse or distribution facility there, too, but it’s probably too early to tell. Either way, I’m happily surprised since so many people were blaming North Carolina’s weakness in its local vehicle-manufacturing supply chain for what happened with Ford or Rivian.

Looks like the made the official announcement today. Claiming it’ll put 7500 jobs out there within the first 5 years and invest $4 billion by 2026. Was a competition amongst 11 states and looks like it came down to this place (Triangle Innovation Point) vs Savannah, Georgia.

WELL looks like TBJ has changed and even without add blocker are now requiring their expensive subscriptions.

I was worried before I had kids because I was super cool, travelled the globe, and hung out in all the grimiest bars I could find but then when I had my first baby at 37 I realized how sad, selfish, and pathetic I was. I see a lot of my friends who are early 40s with no children and their lives are empty. You probably aren’t doing anything that special, your life will be better and more fulfilling. Do the right thing.
Edit: Let me know if that was out of line…
Fairly harsh, yeah. Kids didn’t end up being in the plan for my wife and I either. Not so much a strategy, but not it worked out. Our lives are far from empty. I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but neither is having kids.
