Jeez makes me sad when people here making things political and UNWELCOMING to half the people in the country.

Derogatory terms for people who didn’t vote like you vote, don’t deserve your disdain and stereotyping. I’d be equally sad if people on the right were here taunting “more liberal tears please” and other BS. We should be better here.

As my good friend who’s a liberal in Colorado put it:

Calling half the country nut jobs and bigots isn’t going to win elections.

Back to reality, this seems like a cool win for DTR in this conservative’s mind

I think we can all agree that there a nutjobs in all groups of the political spectrum.

It actually did win the election this year.

Yes it did. Just not for those doing the name calling.

Seriously? There was enough to go around on both sides with the name calling.

What do you mean? Presidnet Elect Musk would never participate in name calling.

In the Charlotte Urbanplanet they came up with a Politics thread as it was spreading into other threads and maybe the same should be done on this site. That way those who want to avoid reading political rants could avoid it like the plague.

I prefer to save it for the meetups so I can scream my opinions in people’s faces. But you may be on to something.

I find it rather limiting that an urban planning forum–an inherently political subject, has to pretend to be apolitical even though it is obvious that Raleigh’s ability to thrive is dependent on national and state level politics to a huge extent.

Not to mention this is literally the Capital city of our State lol

The forum asks you all to just talk politics under the right category. People here are pedantic about putting topics under the right category and thread.

That would be great and all but frankly everything we discuss is now seen as political. I mean if you watch certain media outlets, being genuine and nice is now political. Sorry to continue the conversation but that’s just what I understand to be the current situation.

Here’s a little more info from the N&O. Basically PBS NC is going to move, and they are determining now where. They didn’t say if they were leaning toward DTRaleigh (Fayetteville Street, specifically, it sounds like) or not.

I know it was mentioned TVD’s space, but I think they’re going to continue having a presence on the street, just not filming. So I wonder where PBS NC would go - maybe the building where the city owns the ground level restaurant space that has been empty for years?
