Here’s a great YouTube video that shows this building’s recent progress: Gateway | 3/21/23 - YouTube

I don’t understand why they don’t have a more typical/fixed crane here.

Maybe they are proceeding like Park City South and are installing a crane after parking deck completion?

Wow that’s a great little video! The resolution in the actual video (at least on my screen) is amazing. Plus as it rotates, you basically get to see all of the construction projects going on downtown. The final shot is an awesome view!

Really shows how connected all these projects will seem - that 320 South St crane will be so close to the planned 20-story towers on that dirt lot - and then once the northern section of this land (currently planned two 20-story towers + 4story apartments) is built out, and eventually the two Memorial Aud. lots are built up (40+ stories???) it’s gonna bring it all together. Very cool angle, indeed.

…in the skyline, I should say. The pedestrian/street level experience, however, will be another thing. Hoping they add some sort of pedestrian connection to these Salisbury Sq/Memorial Aud-adjacent projects to the West…

Check “Commissioner has concerns about flooding” off your bingo card

Actually did you catch the concern over glare from the tall glass towers distracting drivers? That was a new one.

How did these people get to be in a position like this?

We have a beltway. You can drive around the shadows/glare. My god, we need to invent a device that you can put over your eyes that reduces glare/sun.

Unreal. I hope everyone laughed at that, loudly.

I often get blinded from the sun reflecting off peoples side view mirrors when driving. Motion to remove those while we’re at it?

Or the overly bright headlights on oversized suvs and trucks that shine directly into rear views and blind people at night.

If we had more tall glass buildings there would be less light getting reflected!
