Isn’t it usually topped with an evergreen tree?
I wonder how clearly we’ll see the monumental stair from the sidewalk? I guess it all depends on the glass?
That’s the main reason we go there
Thank for the awesome photos! ![]()
i asked Google AI to “create a funny parody of Motorheads Orgasmatron called Developertron using themes of battes with city councils, cherry picked data and rumors of payoffs using the same stanza structure and verse style.” this isnt bad. https://g.co/gemini/share/acf3bd816413

Something big is being delivered to the job site this weekend.
The team will place the new natural gas-powered generators on Sunday, Oct. 5. These generators will enable the new City Hall to use natural gas to power the building during any power outages. The old generators used at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB) were removed last year, as were their underground gas storage containers. The old ones were deafening, and the tanks had to be refilled once they ran out of gas. The new ones for City Hall will not have underground storage containers but will be connected to the natural gas line and will be significantly quieter. However, these generators are very large and require some coordination to install. On Sunday, Oct. 5, crews will close Dawson Street between Hargett Street and Morgan Street. Once the road is closed, crews will erect a large crane to lift the generators up and over RMB, placing them in their new homes directly behind the new City Hall. While this work is being done, the City is closing the top deck of the RMB parking deck, and no one is able to work in RMB on Sunday.
The delivery of the generators marks a significant milestone in the project’s completion. It is incredible how much has been completed in just a year. Just last September, we poured the mat slab foundation, and now the team is working towards installing the final floor, which is scheduled for later this fall.
Too bad they couldn’t have built it a little to the left. Maybe I can let them know, and they can move it.
Here are some new and old angles. I’ll start with the old angles.
Obv poor planning and those poor people with offices in the dark shadows of the AT&T building.
Familiar angle
Also familiar
And a new angle, I subjected myself to show what it’s like to take a picture from one of these horrible dark deep shadows cast by this skyscraper.
Those shadows are so frightening I may not very drive down those streets again!!![]()
yeah, @OakCityDylan can you please enhance those shadowed photos so that we can see what’s going on? ![]()
I normally doctor photos up a bit but intentionally did not here. I could have made it look worse or better, but this is just iPhone photo capture.
I can’t even tell what I’m looking at. Is this the ruins of an underground city at midnight?
@John, you can see some of the variations of the facade from this distance/angle. Less noticeable up close unfortunately.
Driving into Raleigh on New Bern Ave. at Corporation Pkwy. , you can now see City Campus Tower on our skyline.
Reminds me… off topic for this thread but I’m looking forward to all the new vantage points we’ll start seeing the Creamery tower from when that starts going! It’ll be a much taller building than anything on Glenwood or in that entire area, so it’s going to be a nice surprise where it starts becoming visible from.
