Commerce Place Woonerf

We are on the same page. What is the deal with the names of these buildings and such? I am just not a fan. Give me something I can spell and pronounce. I am not sure if this is a German place (no offense to the Germans) or a place to take your dog for grooming (no offense to dogs)

The (Dutch) woonerf may not dance off the tongue but the approach to human scale development is worth singing about…Think the Brits call these ā€˜home zones’.
Excited to see this area evolve.
Fingers crossed the Creamery gets going in 2025 and that gets Turnbridge some momentum for the tower over here in 2030 or so…

Agreed. I do like what is happening. I will take the project and be happy. The name be damned. I guess it gives us all something to talk about.

That can’t be right. If it was the Brits, they’d add an unnecessary ā€œuā€ or two. More like houme zounes

Rode by on my way home today. I’m not sure what the plan for this building is, but I guess it could be another restaurant. I don’t think there is actually any plans in the making for this building that I’m aware of.

Edit to add. I just realized it’s pretty much the same shot as @Daniel above, except that it’s dark.

I hope the city plans to make this street a rentable community space. It would be nice for there to be frequent events happening throughout the year to speed track the full-redesign progress. I could see weddings, family reunions, organization fairs, community engagement meetings, etc. being held here.

Have I been missing it. But has the city been activating this space at all yet since painting the mural on the street?

I haven’t really seen this space activated. I also haven’t really been down it too much lately although I’ve been on the surrounding streets. During first Friday this month, I was told the 311 Art Gallery wasn’t open anymore. From my understanding, it was closed and it sounded like the building overall was going to be remodeled. We went to CAM, but CAM only had the top floor accessible during this time since the bottom floor exhibit was not yet ready. As we finished at CAM, we were trying to figure out where we were going next. This is when the conversation came up about the art gallery. Long story short: nothing to report other than it sounds like the 311 Art Gallery building may be getting remodeled. If so, then I guess it could potentially lead to activity on the street.
