Depends on the day and time of day, and person I’m talking to, and type of bed I slept on (if traveling) and humidity, etc, etc, etc.

Sounds more like a coddled egg…

What’s up with the quorum center? What is “Civic”?

Federal Credit Union….not sure why they need more space as there’s a whole (seemingly mostly empty building) on Wake Forest Rd just after St Albans…..

LGFCU (recently merged into Civic, but were always the same organization functionally) has had office and conference space at the Quorum center for years. Seems now Civic got naming rights, or at least the right to put their sign on top of the building.

Civic’s Wake Forest Rd location is their operational headquarters, I believe they’re using most or all of that space now.

Good info to know, thx. Never been in -

Always seems like a mostly empty lot when I breeze past….

Ah yeah the employee parking is in the garage attached to the building (it’s masked well, you wouldn’t guess that there’s a garage if you’re just driving by). The surface lot is member and employee overflow parking.

The Civiv/LGFCU location on Wake Forest Rd is the former Wake County Public Schools System HQ. It was sold in 2014 after a politcal row and WCPSS HQ moved to Cary.

Meant to mention that the fairly unnoticeable Q branding had been replaced by Civic on the Q Center building.

First noted it when a new light appeared within the DTR nighttime mosaic a few weeks ago. Took binoculars to read it from the Village District. And took some map research the next day to identify the building.

Wasn’t sure the sign would be that noticeable from the street. But does stand out on the distant skyline view from the west.

I was with LGFCU for 35 years and then it became Civic. Shall we say it was not a smooth transition. And shall we say it was not a smooth transition for many. That is all.

As we would say in Miami, no bueno.

I heard that a lot… hope you found a stable solution, whether that’s at Civic or elsewhere. I understand leadership at Civic motivations for the transition. The execution was failed. I think they relied too heavily on SECU historically and didn’t have the expertise built up to execute the transition.

I think from the feedback I’ve heard, this is a mild understatement. Maybe in a few years all will be forgotten and they will recover the ground they lost. It’s a wait and see at this point.

I know this is completely off topic and I do apologize but, is there a forum similar to this for North hills?

If there were, it would likely be run and monitored by Kane.

North Hills talk normally occurs within the Raleigh Area Mall / Life-Style Center / RTP Redevelopment thread:
